DELGANY SECOND NOW cruised to victory on handicap bow at Stratford on Tuesday and may well defy a 7-lb penalty. Onehundredneighty and Khalk'eau Spigao are both potential improvers for very capable yards, with Kotari another likely player if putting it all together.

Timeform Comments

Kotari (FR)
Free-going sort. Finished third in handicaps at Taunton/Plumpton prior to doing a tad too much at Kempton in the spring. Confirmed his wellbeing with a close fifth in first-time visor (removed) on Flat in early-June. Weighed to go well returning to hurdles 12 weeks on and could get an easy lead.
Uncle Remus
Went the right way in bumpers. Has done plenty wrong as a hurdler, though, typically let down by his jumping on his first outing since leaving Robert Stephens at Newton Abbot (2¼m) 6 days ago.
Delgany Second Now
Sent off at a relatively big price for Skelton handicap debutant when winning with plenty in hand at Stratford (2¾m) on Tuesday, duly improving for the longer trip. This race looks to have more depth, however, he could still take plenty of beating under a 7-lb penalty.
Khalk'eau Spigao (FR)
Never looked like landing a gamble on bumper debut here last winter. Hasn't achieved much over hurdles, though was tighter in the betting on second handicap start at Worcester in early-July. Type to benefit from addition of cheekpieces and isn't one to give up on yet.
Onehundredneighty (IRE)
Best effort when third on handicap bow at Chepstow (19f) in February for Max Young. Gambled on when 9¼ lengths fourth of 8 at Warwick on debut for Ben Pauling in late-May. That effort wasn't without promise and he may yet be capable of better on return from 3 months off.
North Account (IRE)
Showed little in 3 Irish maidens. Joined emerging yard after unseating in a point (6/4 favourite) but has shown precious little in pair of handicaps. Hopes of improvement rest on the addition of first-time cheekpieces.
Wise Counsellor
Fairly useful maiden at best on the Flat (stays 1¾m). Didn't offer much in either sphere for Daniel Steele more recently. On a lowly mark and may do better now under the handling of Gary & Josh Moore (worth a market check with yard also saddling Kotari).
