Timeform View

LITTLETOWN LAD wasn't as headstrong as he can be at Uttoxeter last time and a reproduction of that effort should be enough to score in a thin race. Yanka Blue is respected after back-to-back second-placed finishes, with Character Testing completing the 1-2-3.

Timeform Comments

Daaris (IRE)
Fair sort at his best on Flat (won at Wolverhampton in December) and wasn't too far off reaching that level over hurdles back in 2023/24. Not seen over obstacles since and his last Flat outing was disappointing. Others make more appeal.
Character Testing
Remains a maiden after 18 hurdling runs, albeit in the frame on his last 3 outings in this sphere. Runner-up in a Beverley seller on the Flat on his penultimate outing but found nothing at Doncaster 2 weeks ago. Sports a visor for the first time over jumps here.
Expert Analysis (IRE)
Fair form on the Flat in 2024 but didn't offer much in 3 maiden hurdles last autumn or switched to handicap company in May. Worth a betting check having been bought out of Dermot Kilmartin's yard for 6,000 gns.
Hijo De La Luna (GER)
Modest Flat winner matched that form over hurdles when placed in a Southwell maiden last spring but hasn't yet replicated that form in this sphere (lightly raced). Plugged on into third in a Carlisle Flat handicap last month but below form when last seen at Ripon.
Return With Gold (IRE)
Fair on Flat and was beaten a long way when making the frame in 2 juvenile hurdles last spring. No promise on either Flat outing this summer and he's opposable making handicap debut in this sphere.
Yanka Blue (IRE)
Yet to register a victory but she arrives on the back of a pair of second-placed finishes, most recently in an 8-runner handicap hurdle at Newton Abbot (2¼m, good) 40 days ago. Yard in patchy form but she's probably one of the likelier types in a very thin race.
Littletown Lad (IRE)
Fourth in a bumper for Daragh Bourke in April 2025. Settled better than usual and brought out an improved performance when a clear second of 11 in handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter (2m, good to soft) 35 days ago. Has to be taken seriously after that.
Breaking Ground (IRE)
Maiden after 8 starts over hurdles and she's only produced short-lived efforts on her last 2 outings. Hard to warm to.
Red Trail (IRE)
Long-standing maiden over jumps but looked back in some sort of form from 4 lb out of the weights when fifth of 10 in handicap hurdle at Market Rasen (19f, good to firm) 13 days ago. Back in a more realistic grade here.
Scopic
Has shown little in 4 starts to date. Makes handicap debut from long way out of the weights in first-time hood/tongue tie.
