Timeform View

Aidan O'Brien has a strong record in this maiden and looks to hold a strong hand once again. Ryan Moore is on Leopardstown third DARKNESS FALLS so he's narrowly preferred to stablemate Albany County, an encouraging fourth on his recent course debut. Group entries suggest newcomers Paul Pierre, Cluster and Kingdom of Camelot, another from Ballydoyle, are well regarded.

Timeform Comments

A I Nation (IRE)
125/1, eleventh of 19 in maiden at this course (6f, good to firm, 125/1) on debut 20 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Can only watch.
Adversity
Foaled February 14. 65,000 gns yearling, Wootton Bassett colt. Dam, placed at 1m-1¼m (unproven beyond), half-sister to smart winner up to 1m Spinning Queen. Worth a second look in the betting under Billy Lee but he'll need to be very useful to make a winning start to his career here.
Albany County (IRE)
Promising type. Fourth of 10 in maiden at this course (9f, good) on debut 13 days ago, nearest finish. Sure to improve but Ryan Moore seemingly prefers Darkness Falls.
Cluster
Foaled April 17. Frankel colt. Dam, 1¼m winner, sister to high-class winner up to 1½m Midday. Holds a Group 2 entry next month and one to keep a close eye on in the betting for top stable.
Cmon Now The View (IRE)
Foaled May 6. €20,000 foal. Calyx colt. Dam twice-raced half-sister to useful 2-y-o 6f winner Space Cowboy. Would be a shock winner on debut.
Darkness Falls (IRE)
Showed plenty to work on when third of 5 in maiden at Leopardstown (1m, good to firm) on debut 37 days ago. That form has been boosted and he's the mount of Ryan Moore from the Ballydoyle trio. Probably the one to beat.
Highest Order
Twice-raced colt. Seventh of 13 in maiden at Dundalk (1m, 20/1) 14 days ago. Looks more one for nurseries after this.
Kingdom Of Camelot (FR)
Foaled January 8. €1,200,000 Camelot colt. Dam, French 11f winner, closely related to 6f-1m winner Canvassed and 9.4f/10.4f winner Pensee du Jour (by Camelot), both smart. In common with his 2 stablemates, he holds Group entries next month.
Lumierebleu (IRE)
Foaled March 22. €78,000 Blue Point colt. Half-brother to useful 1m winner Melismatic and 7f winner Lady Pagasa. The betting should help guide to expectations with this newcomer.
Moon Sand (FR)
80/1, ninth of 10 in maiden at this course (9f, good) on debut 13 days ago. Needs to have come on a lot in a short time.
Nouveau Grey (FR)
Foaled March 17. €145,000 New Bay colt. Closely related to very smart winner up to 1½m Zagrey and half-brother to 3 winners, including smart winner up to 11f Graignes. Dam unraced. Eye-catching pedigree but starts out in what may be a hot race.
Paul Pierre (IRE)
Foaled April 4. Wootton Bassett colt. Dam, winner up to 1¼m (2-y-o 1m winner) who stayed 1½m, sister to top-class winner up to 2½m Kyprios. An entry in next month's National Stakes suggests he's well regarded at Rosewell House.
Rock On Johnny (IRE)
Twice-raced gelding. 40/1, well-held fifth of 16 in maiden at Gowran (7f, good to firm) 17 days ago. Outsider.
Romayan (IRE)
125/1, ninth of 11 in maiden at this course (7f, good to firm) on debut 20 days ago. More one for the longer term on that evidence.
Silk Twist (IRE)
Foaled April 29. €11,000 Churchill colt. Half-brother to Italian 2-y-o 5f-1m winner Vento Da Sud. Dam unraced half-sister to useful 2-y-o 6f winner Cedarberg. Best to look elsewhere unless the betting strongly hints otherwise.
Ted's Turn (IRE)
20/1, fifth of 7 in maiden at Leopardstown (7f, good) on debut in May. It's taken a bit of time to get him back but he's open to progress.
