Timeform View

THI QAR has been entered in Group races on the back of her encouraging debut second at Newmarket and is taken to improve past the more-established Tall Trees. Money for one or more of the newcomers would also bring them into the reckoning, with Flower Show one who makes obvious appeal given Charlie Appleby's excellent 2-y-o strike-rate.

Timeform Comments

Alanah Bananah
Foaled April 29. Too Darn Hot filly. Dam, 1¼m winner, half-sister to smart winner up to 1¾m (stayed 2m) Red Galileo out of useful 1½m winner Ivory Gala. A respected debutante, particularly if the betting vibes are strong.
Bassrah
Very green on debut and duly improved when length second over 6f at Yarmouth (good) in May. Off since. The step up to 7f will suit but the Yarmouth form is nothing special so she'll need to improve.
Empress Jingu
Foaled February 24. 80,000 gns Kameko filly. Dam, 9f winner who stayed 1½m, half-sister to useful 7f/1m winner Fame And Acclaim out of useful 1m/8.3f winner Applause. Newcomer from a leading stable.
Flower Show (IRE)
Foaled February 4. Dubawi filly. Sister to 6f winner Lucky Gift. Dam 2-y-o 5f-6f winner (Queen Mary Stakes/Duchess of Cambridge Stakes). Top yard is operating at a 41% strike-rate with 2-y-os this season.
Lady Ranya (FR)
Foaled February 13. Camelot filly. Sister to smart 1m-10.2f winner Sinjaari and half-sister to several winners, including useful 6f-7f winner Grand Karat and 5f-6f winner Bright. From a family which has served connections well but she'll need a useful effort to take this on debut.
Ortanique
18/1, seventh of 8 in novice at Newcastle (7f) on debut 9 days ago. More one for the longer term on that evidence.
Tall Trees
Fairly useful form, finishing third in a C&D listed race (good) on latest start. Sets the standard for a stable which had a couple of 2-y-o winners at Newbury earlier in the week.
Thi Qar (IRE)
Promising start to her career when second of 6 in maiden at Newmarket (7f, good to firm) 21 days ago. Sure to progress and win races.
Victoria Night (IRE)
Foaled March 13. Night of Thunder filly. Closely related to 7f winner Ghaihaban and half-sister to several winners, including smart winner up to 1½m Sky Defender. Dam 2-y-o 6f winner. Check the betting with this newcomer.
