Timeform View

SAFFRON BAY shaped encouragingly behind the odds-on winner when third at Lingfield on debut and she can build on that effort to get off the mark. She gets the vote ahead of Necromancer, who is respected for her leading yard, with Halcon also capable of getting involved given the promise she showed first time up.

Timeform Comments

April's Luck (IRE)
Sent off at big odds (200/1) but showed more than on first start when fourth of 12 in novice at Wolverhampton 11 days ago. Plenty more needed in this contest, though.
Luna Lacy (IRE)
Foaled March 15. €15,000 foal, €36,000 yearling, resold €11,000 yearling, £25,000 2-y-o, Minzaal filly. Dam, 11.6f winner, half-sister to useful 1m winner (stayed 1¼m) Sawwaah out of useful 2-y-o 6f-7f winner (stayed 10.4f) Mudaaraah.
Naseebwali
Foaled March 19. Mohaather filly. Dam 9.5f-1½m winner. Has a fair standard to aim at on debut.
Pen Lan Icon
Offered little making her debut when seventh of 10 in maiden at Lingfield (6f, all-weather) 2 weeks ago. Needs to leave that effort well behind up in trip.
Saffron Bay (AUS)
Offered something to work on first time up when third of 6 in novice at Lingfield (1m, all-weather) 3 weeks ago. Can make a bold bid with improvement to come.
Sweet Distraction
Foaled April 2. Ten Sovereigns filly. Half-sister to several winners, including 2-y-o 7.4f-8.6f winner She's Hot and French 2-y-o 6f winner (stayed 9f) Numero Dix. Yard's only other 2-y-o runner of the campaign finished runner-up on debut.
Tradittion
Took a step forward from debut when keeping on again for sixth in 9-runner novice at Haydock 22 days ago. Will be of more appeal once handicapping.
Wishful Thinker
Foaled March 23. 11,000 gns foal, 26,000 gns yearling, Ardad filly. Half-sister to 1¼m winner Nigwa and 1¼m winner Cloth of Gold. Dam, 7f winner and third in 1000 Guineas, half-sister to smart winner up to 1m Thikriyaat. Watch for market clues (wears tongue strap).
Blanquita
Showed ability once underway when fourth of 12 in newcomers race at Kempton 19 days ago, leading until under 2f out. Open to improvement, though does have wide draw to overcome.
Halcon
Encouragement amidst greenness when third in a Ripon maiden (6f) on debut. After 9 weeks off, still in need of the experience when well held at Wolverhampton (7f) 12 days ago, but she should stay this far and is worth another chance to build on her first effort.
High On Honey (IRE)
Bred for longer trips and was in need of the experience on debut when tenth of 12 in maiden over this C&D 17 days ago, very slowly away. Looks one for the longer term.
Moudora
Foaled March 7. £3,000 yearling, Mohaather filly. Half-sister to 3 winners, including useful 1m/8.5f winner Sareeha and 6f-10.4f winner Khisah Bu Thaila. Dam 1½m winner. Rare 2-y-o runner for yard.
Necromancer
Some promise on debut when fifth of 10 in maiden at Newmarket (7f) last month. Wasn't able to build on that effort when sixth of 11 in novice over the same C&D 15 days ago, but she's in good hands so could yet do better.
Tommo's Queen
Making her first start, was very green but got the idea late on when making the frame in a Redcar maiden (7f) last month. However, went backwards from that run when well held in novice at Ripon (1m) 2 weeks ago.
