Hopefully the worst of the rain stays away for GAMBINO, who has strong claims to follow up last month's C&D success. Wheremyrosemarygoes stands out among the remainder.

Timeform Comments

Gambino (IRE)
Showed plenty when 2¾ lengths behind fairly useful pair with experience on hurdling debut at Newbury in March. Capitalised on a good opportunity to open his hurdles account in C&D maiden following a breathing operation last month. Can defy a penalty, though ideally wouldn't want too much rain.
Destination Unkown (IRE)
Poor maiden on Flat. Hasn't shown anything over hurdles.
Hawthorn Road (IRE)
Beaten 9 lengths in falsely-run maiden at Perth second time up over hurdles. Will be better off in handicaps.
Redbridge Rocco (IRE)
Maiden pointer has looked one for the longer term in 2 hurdle starts nearly a year apart.
Whermyrosemarygoes (IRE)
€48,000 Walk In The Park mare. Placed on her last 2 starts in Irish points. Overcame a big market drift/greenness to make a successful hurdling debut in an ordinary Uttoxeter (2m) novice, winning eased down. Respected under a penalty, though probably needs Gambino to underperform here.
Champagne Powder (FR)
Fairly useful 1m winner on all-weather for Oliver Cole. Form went the wrong way on the Flat this year. Could be a longer-term project for capable new yard.
Faithful Guardian (IRE)
Runner-up in a bumper for Alan King last season. Showed more than on hurdling debut when rallying to finish 15½ lengths third of 9 at Worcester last time, running a race in contrast with his speedy pedigree. That form still some way off what's likely to be required, though.
Pink 'n Purple (IRE)
Ran his best race when 12½ lengths third (splitting a couple of next-time-out winners) at Plumpton in early-April. Tough ask at the weights back in maiden company, even with good-value claimer booked.
Argentum (IRE)
Didn't show much first time out over hurdles at Huntingdon in March. Subsequent form on Flat for Matt Crawley was hardly inspiring. Tall order back hurdling on stable debut.
Manhatane (FR)
Unpromising in points and similar story in 2 novice runs here.
