A recent breathing operation may have helped Halfway House Lad and he's feared in a refitted tongue strap. Judicial Review is seeking a hat-trick in this race and completes the shortlist.

Fair hurdler at best for Stuart Crawford but only a glimmer of promise in 4 starts over hurdles/fences for new yard this summer. Will find this more suitable than his Perth assignment 2 weeks ago but he needs to display more positive signs before becoming of interest.
Bravethewaves
Well served by the drop back in trip when making all for a ready success at Doncaster (19f) in February. However, he disappointed in pair of starts over hurdles/fences during the spring and he returns from nearly 5 months off with his yard in mixed form.
Halfway House Lad
Resurgent upon joining present yard this spring, running out an easy winner at Hexham in May prior to following up over extended 25f here later that month. Pulled up next 2 starts but has had breathing operation since and revival could be on the way in refitted tongue strap.
Illogical Logic (FR)
Opened his account from a 5 lb higher mark at Newton Abbot (2½m) last June. Exploits mixed thereafter in 2025/26 but revived by refitting of cheekpieces of late, posting good second at Stratford (3½m) 9 days ago. Potentially well treated now but drop in trip not sure to suit on stable debut.
Blazing Court (IRE)
Winning chaser who belatedly proved he retains some ability on the back of a 2-day turnaround when finishing a neck second behind Aill Dubh in a C&D handicap 6 weeks ago. Possibly flattered by his proximity then, though, and overall record suggests he's no sure thing to be in same form now.
Judicial Review (IRE)
Has won 3 times at this track (including this race for the last 2 years) and went close to adding to his tally minus usual headgear over extended 25f here in July. Never truly threatened behind Aill Dubh last time but now 8 lb lower than when landing this prize 12 months ago.
Roi Du Roume (FR)
Improved from chase debut fitted with cheekpieces/tongue strap when second in a C&D handicap in June. Quick turnaround possibly caught him out over hurdles here later that month but had a breathing operation ahead of this and blinkers may put an extra edge on him.
Path Of Stars (FR)
In good form over hurdles here in recent months, winning then second in handicaps over 2¾m. Took a while to warm to her task but not beaten far when fourth behind Aill Dubh on last month's chasing bow over C&D. She wouldn't be an obvious one to build on that.
Aill Dubh (IRE)
Reacted well to a change of tactics when making all at Newcastle (23f, good) in March and has continued in form, resuming winning ways over C&D 6 weeks ago by a neck from Blazing Court. 2 lb rise undersells his superiority then and big player again.
Scoro (FR)
6-y-o gelding who has finished well held all 3 starts in novice/maiden hurdles in recent months. However, he was a winning pointer earlier in his career, so one to note in the betting now handicapping over the larger obstacles with cheekpieces/tongue strap enlisted.
Fast Deal
Remains with only the one career success and he looks set for another struggle operating from out of the weights.
