Timeform View

MANAGING DIRECTOR has been shaping up well for new connections following a significant absence prior to this season so Geoff Oldroyd's charge gets the verdict to double his tally back down in grade. His main threat may emerge from Harb, who bounced back to form when finishing runner-up at Hamilton recently. 3-y-os Simba's Pride and Qila can do battle for minor honours.

Timeform Comments

Managing Director (IRE)
Forward-going type whose sole success came at Thirsk as a juvenile. Left Bryan Smart/off 21 months prior to return but has looked as good as ever this summer, most recently when second of 9 at Thirsk (5f, good) just over a fortnight ago. Wide stall to overcome but fancied to feature.
Holbache
Won at Redcar and Leicester last summer and returned to form when bossing a 6-runner veterans' event from some way out at Catterick (6f, good to firm) in May. Below that level the last twice, though did shape as if better for the run over C&D (good) recently.
Military Girl (IRE)
Completed a double in determined fashion over at Thirsk in early-June. Only beaten 1 length in her hat-trick bid there later that month (form worked out well) and entitled to strip fitter for her recent effort back from 7 weeks off at that venue earlier in the month. Draw complicates things.
Daizen (IRE)
Ended his 2-y-o season in good style with success in an Ayr maiden and worked his way back to form this year, proving better than ever when winning at Thirsk in July. That is very much a standout this campaign, however, and now drops back to the minimum trip for just a second time.
Ventura Express
Losing run now stands at 24 and despite falling in the weights, he's not really been shaping as though ready to take advantage, never dangerous having been slowly away over C&D (good) most recently.
Qila
Has upped his game since having a second breathing operation, shaping as if ready for a return to 6f when third of 10 in handicap over C&D (good) 18 days ago. Each-way claims kept to this trip.
Tiriac
Dual Newcastle winner in late-2025 but yet to fire this season, not seen to best effect having denied a run over 1f out when sixth of 11 at Hamilton (5f, good to firm) earlier in the month. His continued starting issues make him a risky betting proposition.
Tees Aggregates (IRE)
Capitalised on a falling mark when scoring at Catterick in June. Has found things tougher all 3 starts since, including back down in grade back there (5f, good) just under a fortnight ago. Handicapper drops him another couple but best watched for now.
Great
Overcame the run of the race when scoring at Carlisle last month and doubled his tally for the season in good style at Pontefract (5f) earlier in the month. Followed that with a below-par effort at Carlisle last time and a wide draw tempers enthusiasm here.
Miss Brazen
Bounced back to winning ways at Nottingham in April on her return and close third over C&D the following month. Not better than mid-field on her last 3 starts, though did shape better than the bare result after 9 weeks off at Catterick recently (had to delay challenge). Wide stall a negative.
Simba's Pride
Doubled his tally at Ripon (6f) in May and has remained in decent form since, looking unlucky not to finish considerably closer when seventh of 10 over C&D (good) earlier in the month, stopped in his run several times and passing the post with running left. Worth a second look.
Ice Cold Alex
Winless since his debut at Pontefract (5f) last spring and his one standout effort this season came here in the spring. Soundly beaten after 11 weeks off at Newcastle recently and hopes are pinned on first-time cheekpieces.
Empress Olivia
Confirmed reappearance promise when landing 13-runner event at Ripon (6f) in April. Has struggled since, up against her elders for the first time when seventh of 9 over C&D (good) last month. Easy to look elsewhere.
Dream Deal
Back to winning ways over C&D in June and mainly in good nick thereafter. Never sighted after a slow start in the 'Jump Jockeys Nunthorpe' at York last month but may well get back on track.
Harb
Doubled his tally for the year at Carlisle in May. Mixed record since (not seen to best effect a few times) but returned to form having eased to 2 lb below his last winning mark when second of 10 at Hamilton (5f, good) 9 days ago. Each-way player once again.
