Possible to make a case for most of these. HIS FINEST HOUR posted 2 good placed efforts in Class 4 events here for his new yard here last month and can resume winning ways in this slightly lower grade. Cosmos Raj bounced back to form out of the blue at Redcar recently and his good course record provides hope that he can build on that. Fellow Ripon specialist Poet's Dawn also has to enter calculations.

Timeform Comments

Poet's Dawn
Remarkable 11-y-o who has gained 5 wins in 2026, including 3 over C&D. Well held at Doncaster and Redcar last twice but to no surprise were a return to Ripon to spark a revival.
Triple Force
Free-going sort who won 4 times in 2025. Respectable in-frame efforts at York and Chester when last seen in June and enters calculations in a race he was second in last year.
His Finest Hour
Returned for new yard with 2 good efforts here last month, going down only to a progressive rival over 1m 17 days ago. Should go well again.
Yermanthere (IRE)
Snapped a long losing run when winning over C&D (good to firm) in June. Good runner-up efforts on next 2 starts and not seen to best effect when sixth of 11 at Musselburgh (9f, good to firm) last week (treated as if still in form).
No Knee Never (IRE)
Three alI-weather wins earlier in the year. Some creditable efforts on turf this summer (including C&D) but his last couple of efforts have been below par.
Draupnir
Won at Thirsk (7f, soft) last September. Placed twice at the start of the season, including over 9f at Hamilton. Respectable fifth of 13 in handicap at Ayr (1¼m, good to firm) 24 days ago and being eased a further 2 lb puts him just 1 lb above the mark he defied at Thirsk last year.
Cosmos Raj
Five-time course winner, including twice last year. Struggled for the majority of this season but back to form to take advantage of a reduced mark at Redcar (1¼m, good) 10 days ago. Raised 3 lb but he remains well treated on last year's form.
Precious Spartan (IRE)
Three 1m course wins on joining Patrick Neville last summer but has failed to fire in 3 outings this year, including here.
