Timeform View

Preference is for BATTLE FEVER, who ran a cracker in a valuable sales race at York when proving no match for a recent Group 1 winner and Kevin Ryan's colt is fancied to kick on now tackling a nursery for the first time. Harley got off the mark when comfortably accounting for Sea Mirage over C&D last month and that pair can give the selection most to think about here.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Battle Fever traded at a low of 15.50 and Betfair SP of 170.00 when losing last time, a race in which it raced prominently: Harley traded at a high of 2.02 and Betfair SP of 2.37 when winning last time, a race in which it led.

Timeform Comments

Battle Fever (IRE)
Placed in maidens at Beverley and over C&D prior to getting off the mark in Thirsk novice (5f, good) last month. Well and truly bumped into one when second to a Group 1 winner in valuable sales race at York (6f, soft) just under a fortnight ago and fancied to be involved on nursery bow.
Harley (IRE)
Made the most of what became a straightforward opportunity when winning 6-runner novice over C&D (good to firm) just over 3 weeks ago by 3¼ lengths from Sea Mirage, his main market rival having a bad day. 3 lb higher than on handicap debut but is on the upgrade.
Trumpety Trump (IRE)
Showed more than most of stable's 2-y-o debutants when close third of 4 in a muddling race at Ayr in July and it was a similar story when second of 3 in maiden at this course (8.3f, good) 12 days ago, always well behind the 1/25 favourite. More required on nursery debut.
Wild Terrain
Made a winning start in fairly decisive fashion over C&D but highly tried after and looks to have gone the wrong way. Easy to excuse latest Ffos Las effort (raced furthest from the favoured stand rail throughout) and hopes are pinned on a first-time tongue tie.
Sea Mirage (IRE)
Got a bit closer to his Leicester form but was no match for the favourite when 3¼ lengths second of 6 to Harley in novice over C&D (good to firm) just over 3 weeks ago. Could take a step forward now tackling a nursery for the first time.
Rbflying (IRE)
Placed just once from 6 starts but didn't shape as badly as the distance beaten suggested when fifteenth of 18 in nursery at York (7f, soft) recently, probably doing too much too soon. Handicapper given him a chance but faces another tough assignment.
Onslaught (IRE)
Good efforts in 5f maidens here and at Pontefract in June but failed to improve on nursery debut in first-time blinkers at Carlisle just over 3 weeks ago. This return to 6f likely to prove beneficial so by no means out of things.
Boutblummintime (IRE)
Too free switched to a nursery and failed to see out the 1f longer trip when fourth of 7 at Musselburgh (7f, good to firm) in late July. Back sprinting but others are more appealing from 6 lb out of the weights.
