Timeform View

A winner over C&D in June, ANNANDALE arrives having run well when second at Carlisle 6 days ago, staying on well to split a pair of 3-y-os. A repeat gives him sound claims from the same mark. Easy Musselburgh scorer Sophiesticate and in-form Dubai Venture are others fancied to be in the thick of things, whilst market confidence behind the returning Vampire Slayer would also look significant.

Timeform Comments

Annandale (IRE)
Resumed winning ways over C&D in June and essentially remained in form since, splitting a pair of 3-y-os following a short break when second at Carlisle (11f) 6 days ago. Player with a repeat from unchanged mark.
Sophiesticate (IRE)
Knocking on the door prior to emphatically resuming winning ways at Musselburgh (13f) 33 days ago, leading 2f out and drawing clear final 100 yds. 6 lb higher mark shouldn't prevent her going well again in this groove.
Dubai Venture (IRE)
Enhanced a fine Pontefract record when readily landing 1½m handicap in July and remained in good form since, again finding only one too good at Redcar (1¾m, good to firm) 25 days ago. Reliable at this sort of level and possibilities again back down in trip.
Vampire Slayer (IRE)
A fair maiden on the Flat who has improved quite a bit over hurdles since the visor was applied, landing handicaps at Carlisle/Sedgefield around the turn of the year and posted a solid second at Musselburgh (17.4f) when last seen in March. Cheekpieces return back on Flat and market should guide.
Hickton (IRE)
Course winner who resumed winning ways at Southwell (1¾m) in April. Lightly raced since and he didn't settle well enough on first start for 3 months when fifth at Newcastle (12.5f) 2 weeks ago. That ought to have blown the cobwebs away but he remains 2 lb above last winning mark.
Uncle Liam (IRE)
Opened his account in determined fashion over further here in June. Not in quite the same form when fifth over C&D next time but quickly back to his best when fourth of 10 in handicap at Ayr (1¼m, good to firm) in July. Not out of things returned to a softer surface.
Falaise Blanc (FR)
On a losing run but running consistently well this summer, runner-up behind Uncle Liam here on penultimate start and he matched that form when fourth at Carlisle (11f) 6 days ago, no extra only late on. Versatile as regards ground and he's an each-way player.
Dandy's Angel (IRE)
Losing run is beginning to mount up but she gave her all when finishing a respectable third behind Uncle Liam here in June. Possible the return to 1m was against her at Thirsk last time and this test rates more suitable.
Spirit Of Nature (IRE)
Pinatubo gelding who hasn't offered much in 6 starts to date, not threatening when sixth of 8 in handicap (33/1) at this course (1½m, good to firm) 22 days ago. Has work to do.
