ETIENNE has made a promising start to his career in his 2 races so far, nearest at the finish when making the frame in the Super Sprint at Newbury, so he looks to hold leading claims in maiden company. Tree Wizard could be next best on his second run for current yard, ahead of Anna Belardo.

Timeform Comments

Anna Belardo
Encouraging third of 5 in a Newmarket novice on debut but was gone backwards from that run in 2 subsequent outings, last of 7 in maiden at Musselburgh in May. However, he's been given a longer break since (gelded), so he could yet build on his first effort.
Etienne
Has shown plenty of ability in his 2 starts, going close in a Newmarket novice (6f) on debut before finishing well for fourth in the 24-runner Super Sprint at Newbury (5f) in July. Remains with potential and he's the one to beat.
Our Fella (IRE)
Matched his best novice form when runner-up on nursery bow at Ffos Las in July. Has gone the wrong way in 3 starts since, though, in cheekpieces when well-beaten fourth of 5 in nursery at Chepstow on Monday.
Tree Wizard
Ran best race in a change of headgear (blinkered) when second of 13 in maiden at Windsor in June, his final start for Archie Watson. Wasn't in the same form back in cheekpieces when third of 6 at Brighton 10 days ago, but it remains early days for current yard.
Cotai Jaunt (IRE)
Was very much in need of the experience on debut when last of 6 in novice at Lingfield (6f, all-weather) 8 days ago, very slowly away. Likely to need more time.
Polly The Sniper
Showed a bit of promise first time up when 2½ lengths fifth of 6 in novice at Windsor (6f) in early August. Failed to repeat that effort 15 days later when sixth in 9-runner maiden on the all-weather at Lingfield, though did race wide early.
