Timeform View

FLYING PIRATE is already proven on soft ground and a recent gelding operation may well help unlock further potential. Fitted with cheekpieces, he looks the one to beat. Potential improvers Reflect On Glory and All I Know rate the principal dangers.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

In a race that lacks confirmed pace-forcers, Reflect On Glory could get the run of things: Of the better-fancied horses, All I Know is most likely to be ridden furthest from the pace.

Timeform Comments

Flying Pirate (IRE)
Overcame inexperience when making a winning debut at Salisbury (6f, heavy) in June. Ran to a similar level, despite playing up badly beforehand, when third under a penalty over same C&D since and is very much the type to have benefited from subsequent gelding operation. Wears first-time cheekpieces.
Reflect On Glory (IRE)
Clearly derived plenty from his encouraging debut, showing significant improvement when winning 4-runner novice at Ripon (6f, good to firm) 31 days ago. Faces different conditions here but remains with potential.
Maliqui (IRE)
Shaped better than bare result when fifth of 12 in novice at Wolverhampton (7f, 10/3) on debut 16 days ago, left poorly placed. This looks tougher but he should have learnt plenty from that experience.
All I Know
Given a considerate introduction when fair fifth of 8 in novice at Newcastle (7f) 14 days ago. Entitled to progress and can make presence felt here.
Perfect Gal (IRE)
Foaled February 25. €18,000 yearling, resold €68,000 yearling, €62,000 2-y-o (private sale), Minzaal filly. Closely related to 5f winner Bay of Supremacy and half-sister to 3 winners, including useful winner up to 1½m Zegalo. Market should prove best guide to claims on debut.
Lopefernza
Twice-raced maiden who showed more than on debut having been gelded when sixth of 12 in novice at Southwell (7f, 50/1) 38 days ago. Will probably be seen in a better light when sent handicapping, though.
Frankie Power
Foaled May 5. 32,000 gns foal, €27,000 yearling, Perfect Power filly. Half-sister to useful winner up to 7f Calajunco and 1½m winner Phrygia. Dam maiden half-sister to useful 6f-1½m winner (stayed 2m) Buckland. Makes appeal on pedigree and is worth a second look in the market on debut.
