Timeform View

FORZA MAGICO has been shaping up well and ought to make it third time lucky. Otsana and Osterode both look credible dangers.

Timeform Comments

Basilano (IRE)
Returns from 4 months off, having failed to beat a rival in 3 outings to date.
In The Gloaming (IRE)
Best effort came over this trip when beaten 4 lengths (having been outpaced) on qualifying run at Cork in June. Ran poorly in first-time cheekpieces over significantly further in Galway handicap latest (1m). No easy task at the weights back in maiden company, either.
Banish Misfortune (IRE)
Hasn't shown any ability in 4 starts.
Forza Magico
Shaped well both starts to date, going close in a 6f Navan maiden that's worked out well latest. Drop to the minimum trip shouldn't inconvenience given the pace she's shown. The one to beat if returning from an 8-week break in the same form.
Gaineamh Min (IRE)
Showed speed before checking out tamely on debut at Cork (6f, good to firm, 50/1). Faces different conditions here and will probably benefit from time.
Kiss Don't Tell
Went right way in maidens last year, finishing 3 lengths second on qualifying run at Dundalk (5f). Well below that form in a couple of handicap runs as a 3-y-o, though.
Orellana (IRE)
Far too free when beaten 12 lengths on debut at Naas (1m, 150/1). Hard to be confident, but she does at least drop to a trip more in keeping with her pedigree.
Osterode (IRE)
Sister to a useful sprinter. Well backed fourth behind some above average types first time up at Cork. Wasn't knocked about when beaten 6¼ lengths at Dundalk (5f) subsequently. Looks far from the finished article and isn't discounted if building on her debut at the second attempt.
Otsana (IRE)
Cotai Glory filly. Showed speed when 3¾ lengths fifth of 11 on debut at the Curragh (7f, good to firm, 14/1). That race has produced a couple of next-time out winners, and she looks interesting switched to sprinting by yard that knows the time of day.
Sarfarcat (IRE)
Well beaten at long odds 4 starts to date.
Sassy Boom (IRE)
Fared no better dropped into claiming company in first-time cheekpieces at Dundalk in March. Easy to look elsewhere.
Tudor Flame (IRE)
Invincible Army filly. Half-sister to 3 winners, including useful 1m-1½m winner Just Sherry and winner up to 7f Bicep. Finished second of 7 in barrier trial at Leopardstown in August. Forza Magico probably stable's leading hope, unless betting suggests otherwise.
Famed Again (IRE)
Winless in 11 runs. Hasn't stood much racing over the past couple of years and has struggled both starts this summer. RESERVE
White Smoke (IRE)
Runner-up in pair of Curragh maidens this time last year. Still some way off her best but ran better than for a while when 6¼ lengths fourth at Dundalk latest. Place claims if she can build on that. RESERVE
