PINOT GRIS posted a career best over hurdles at Galway last month and is expected to go close now returned to fences from a 6 lb lower mark. Hashtag Pretender showed a good attitude when opening his chase account at Roscommon last month despite several mistakes and is likely to prove the main danger if more assured in the jumping department and seeing out the trip. Charlie Luciano won at this course earlier in the summer and is also respected.

Timeform Comments

Pinot Gris (IRE)
Stepped up on previous chasing efforts when winning 11-runner maiden at Wexford in July by 5½ lengths from Mickie Angel. Ran a cracker off a 6 lb higher mark when 6 lengths second of 20 to Grann's Boy in handicap hurdle at Galway last time. Open to improvement back over fences and must be respected.
Hashtag Pretender (FR)
Useful hurdler who opened his account over fences when winning extended 2m maiden at Roscommon 31 days ago by 4½ lengths from Killeemore Lad. Looks well treated back in a handicap but has stamina to prove racing beyond 2¼m for the first time.
Watch The Weather
Fast approaching 2 years without a win but has posted several at least respectable efforts in defeat, including when placed on his last 2 starts, though was tackling a trip at the upper end of his stamina when 11½ lengths third of 10 to A Snow White Park in 2¾m event at Tramore on latest.
Where's My Jet (IRE)
Useful winning hurdler but has become disappointing over fences and is very hard to recommend even back at a more suitable trip.
Charlie Luciano (IRE)
Back on track when winning extended 25f handicap at this course in July and has remained in form both starts since, chasing home A Wave Of The Sea over a longer trip here last time. Drop back in trip shouldn't inconvenience and no surprise to see him again thereabouts at a track that clearly suits.
Soldante (IRE)
Won over fences at Roscommon by 5 lengths from Party President in June and posted creditable efforts in defeat at Galway on last 2 starts (back over hurdles on first occasion). Latest fifth suggests he'll need to improve if he's to defy his current mark, though.
Bynx (IRE)
Won on the Flat in July and ran as well as well as she ever has over fences when 4¾ lengths fourth of 6 to Rightfolksplease at Wexford last month. Still 4 lb above last winning mark in this sphere, however.
Cappa Hill (IRE)
Fairly useful winning hurdler who has shaped as if laying a platform to build on in both chasing outings to date. Makes his handicap chase debut from a potentially good mark based on his hurdles form, and any strength in the betting should be seriously noted.
Littlebiggie (IRE)
Took well to chasing last season, winning a mares’ maiden at Ballinrobe, but struggled in graded company and handicaps afterwards. Shaped promisingly back over hurdles at this course on return, only to shape as if amiss in the same sphere last time. Has claims at her best but needs to bounce back.
Typical Thomas (IRE)
Winning hurdler/chaser who has been lightly raced and has made only very little impact since 2023/24, though he did shape with a bit more encouragement when 10 lengths fourth of 11 to Cozone in handicap hurdle at Downpatrick last time.
Butter Fingers (IRE)
Justified support when winning 12-runner handicap chase at Wexford in May by 1¼ lengths from Tequila Talkin'. Didn't jump with the same fluency when down the field at Galway last time, though, and remains unproven beyond 19f.
Prince Palace (FR)
Has gone the wrong way since novice days and hasn't fared any better since joining current connections. Not easy to make a case for despite tumbling mark.
Grange Walk (IRE)
One-time very useful chaser who last won 17 months ago and backed out of things quite alarmingly when again below form at this course last time.
