Timeform View

SONTSIVKA was sent off favourite when shaping well in second on debut at Newmarket 3 weeks ago, really getting the hang of things by the end, and he can go one better with improvement on the way. Greenlander and Hidden Beyond also made encouraging starts at this venue and will progress, while Yuzuru might be the pick of the newcomers.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Sontsivka traded at a low of 3.30 and Betfair SP of 3.38 when losing last time, a race in which it raced behind.

Timeform Comments

Admiral Leach (IRE)
€50,000 yearling, Naval Crown colt. Closely related to useful 1½m winner Dubka and winner up to 1½m Time For The Star. Dam 1¼m-1½m winner. 66/1, looked one for the longer term when well beaten in 7f Newmarket novice on debut 3 weeks ago.
Give Hand (IRE)
€70,000 Mohaather colt. Half-brother to several winners, including useful 9.5f-13f winner Capital Theory and 1m winner Senesi. Showed plenty of ability despite being in need of the experience on debut when third over C&D (40/1) a fortnight ago. Yard in form and will progress. NON RUNNER.
Notimetotakeoff (IRE)
Foaled March 23. €40,000 yearling, No Nay Never colt. Brother to 1m winners Cynosure and No No No Never and half-brother to several winners, including smart winner up to 1½m Who's Steph.
Scienza
£40,000 yearling, Bated Breath colt. Half-brother to 7f winner Jungle Knight. 22/1, showed nothing in 6f Newmarket novice on debut a month ago.
Sontsivka
45,000 gns Sergei Prokofiev colt. Half-brother to 6f winner Two Summers (by Acclamation). Dam 7f winner (including at 2 yrs). Well-backed favourite and shaped well when second of 11 in 7f Newmarket novice on debut 3 weeks ago, showing plenty to work on by the finish. Sure to improve and big shout.
Xochipilli
€72,000 2-y-o, Blue Point colt. Half-brother to 1m winner Divine Knight and 11f winner Dzsingisz Kan. Quite an expensive breeze-up purchase for the yard and showed plenty to work on once getting the hang of things when fourth in 7f Lingfield maiden a fortnight ago. Will improve.
Yuzuru (FR)
Foaled April 27. €85,000 foal, 60,000 gns yearling, Hello Youmzain colt. Closely related to 1m winner Champagne Powder and half-brother to winner Crossover Capital. Appealing newcomer.
Greenlander (IRE)
25,000 gns yearling, U S Navy Flag colt. Half-brother to several winners, including useful French 1m winner Spellwork. Sent off 80/1 but didn't shape at all badly when third of 8 in C&D novice on debut a month ago, not knocked about. Will improve.
Ground Force
Well beaten in Goodwood maiden and Southwell novice having been gelded in-between.
Jenny Rae (FR)
Foaled March 19. €55,000 yearling, Dark Angel filly. Dam, French 9f winner, half-sister to smart 2-y-o 7f winner La Barrosa out of useful 2-y-o 7f winner (stayed 12.5f) Bikini Babe. Newcomer worth a look.
Light Fingered
Foaled February 18. Cracksman filly. Half-sister to 1m winner Perfect Ruler. Dam 1m winner who stayed 1¼m.
Hidden Beyond (AUS)
From a useful middle-distance family and made a promising start when 4½ lengths third in a C&D newcomers maiden last month, leaving the impression she'll stay further. Looks sure to progress and no surprise to see her in the shake-up.
Little Copper
Foaled April 14. Dream Ahead filly. Half-sister to several winners, including useful 1m-11.4f winner Eftiraath and 6f winner Shorter Skirt. Dam 2-y-o 7f winner who stayed 1¼m. Unlikely winner on debut on paper.
Sueboys (IRE)
Foaled April 21. 30,000 gns yearling, Calyx filly. Half-sister to several winners, including useful 2-y-o 7f winner Shes Perfect and winner up to 1m Macho Time. Some appeal on paper, although yard 0-19 with juvenile newcomers this season.
