A competitive fillies' handicap but OOLONG POOBONG signalled she is ready to strike again when an excellent third in a big-field York handicap at the Ebor meeting and looks the way to go. Cotai Belle seems sure to go well but could once more have to settle for runner-up spot, while Perfect Part and Proposal can also have a say.

Timeform Comments

Oolong Poobong (IRE)
Bagged 7f handicap at Haydock before an excellent fourth in the Sandringham last summer. Lightly raced since but right back on song with third of 19 in handicap at York (7f, soft) 16 days ago, especially as she was set a lot to do. Big shout nudged up 2 lb.
Figjam (IRE)
Winless this season but she posted a good sixth in Group 3 Summer Stakes at York (6f) in July. Below par back in handicap company at Ascot and York since though so bounce back is required.
Perfect Part (IRE)
Without a victory since her debut in 2024 but she was a good second over 1m here in May. Shaped as if back in form when fifth of 19 at York (7f, soft) 16 days ago so merits consideration.
Passing Thought
Took a big step forward when winning on reappearance at Wetherby (7f) on handicap debut in April. Found it tougher at Royal Ascot next time and fared no better eased in grade at Musselburgh last time. Others more persuasive.
Cotai Belle (IRE)
A dual 5f scorer in 2025 and proving very consistent this season, runner-up 4 times before a good fourth of 19 in handicap at York (7f, soft) 16 days ago. A likely player off a 2 lb lower mark.
Proposal
Returned from 7 months off with breakthrough victory in 7f Doncaster maiden in April. Only twice raced since and posted a good fifth of 14 in handicap at Goodwood (1m, good to firm) in July. Not out of things after just 6 runs.
