Timeform View

ROCKET BOY cemented a really positive start to his career when a keeping-on third at this listed level at Salisbury 3 weeks ago. That sets a pretty good standard and with the prospect of more to come, he looks the answer. First Law is open to any amount of improvement, however, while Rafe's Da Man has raced 4 times but is going the right way, too.

Timeform Comments

Arthurian
Promising opening effort amidst obvious signs of inexperience when sixth of 12 at Newbury (7f, firm) in July. Merely matched that form when second of 6 over C&D a month ago and his claims are far from obvious in this company.
First Law (IRE)
1,000,000 gns yearling, Too Darn Hot colt. Closely related to useful 2-y-o 7f winner Victory Dance and half-brother to several winners, including 1m-1¼m winner King's Charter. Overcame inexperience and a slowly-run race to land the odds on debut at Sandown a month ago. Will leave bare form behind.
Rafe's Da Man
Good-looking son of Ghaiyyath who is learning by the run, continuing theme of race-by-race progress when off the mark in 7f Glorious Goodwood maiden last month. Certainly bred to stay this far and his limit may not have been reached.
Rocket Boy (IRE)
Overcame a poor position in a steadily-run race when springing a surprise on debut at Yarmouth and, pitched into listed company, he also emerged with plenty of credit when third at Salisbury 3 weeks ago upped to 1m. Really strong at the line on that occasion and he sets the clear standard.
Romanza
60,000 gns Frankel gelding. Built on debut promise with 4¼ lengths seventh of 14 in Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot (7f). Eased in class and placed both starts since but lacks the scope to improve of a few of these unless 1m and subsequent gelding operation unlocks a lot more. Hood fitted.
Theheatison
Saw off a couple of next-time-out winners to get off the mark in a Bath novice in July. Placed twice in nurseries over 7f since and 1m will definitely suit, but this is a big ask.
