Timeform View

Cases can be made for several of these, and it could pay to take a chance on sole chasing-debutant JUSTATAN, who is bred for this discipline (successful on both starts in points) and upped his game when third over hurdles here at the Festival last month. Smallcraftwarning is only 2 lb higher than when scoring at Kilbeggan on Friday so he's most feared, ahead of Granville Street and Brandt.

Timeform Comments

Tullybeg (IRE)
On a lengthy losing run and went with little encouragement at Kilbeggan in July. On a good mark but has never been one to rely on.
Brandt (IRE)
Borderline fairly useful stayer over fences in 2024/25. Shaped with a bit more encouragement than of late when 6½ lengths sixth of 16 on return to hurdling at Sligo (3¼m, soft) in June. Interesting if he can build on that 3 months later back chasing.
Tonaghneave Well (IRE)
Borderline useful hurdler but yet to get near that form as a chaser, though fared better than previously in this sphere when third of 6 in beginners chase at Kilbeggan (25f, good) a couple of months ago.
Tell Us This (IRE)
Back to winning ways in 2¼m course handicap chase in July. Added to his patchy record in this sphere when tailed off at Tramore since and now heads back up in trip. His jumping remains a concern.
Granville Street (IRE)
Fairly useful winning hurdler who shaped with some encouragement when third of 8 in handicap at Kilbeggan (3¼m) on chasing debut recently. May do better if his jumping improves with experience, so he's one to consider.
Juke Hill (IRE)
Point runner-up who shaped as if he'd be a better chaser than hurdler when fourth of 14 in beginners chase at Wexford (19f, good to soft) on debut over fences in June. Struggling a long way out at Tramore last month, however.
Justatan (FR)
Successful on both starts in points (bred for stamina). Seemingly being brought along steadily under Rules, showing improved form in first-time cheekpieces when third of 18 in handicap hurdle at this course (3m, good to soft) just over 5 weeks ago. Very interesting chasing debutant.
Oneforgonzo (IRE)
Kept mistakes to a minimum and confirmed return to form when winning 14-runner handicap chase at Killarney in May. Below that level since, producing a miserable display back over fences at Wexford last month. Questions to answer.
That's About Right (IRE)
Hasn't shown his best for a while and continues to fall in the weights without showing much sign of taking advantage, merely passing beaten horses late on having gone in snatches when fourth at Tramore last month.
Nolans Rocco (IRE)
Opened her account in 16-runner handicap chase at Limerick (23f) back in March, though very nearly threw it away having hung badly left run-in. Produced a miserable effort at Wexford the following month and has been off since.
Smallcraftwarning (IRE)
Has struggled to match the same consistency he showed in 2024/25 this season but got back to winning ways reverted to hurdling in 13-runner event at Kilbeggan (25f, good to soft) 3 days ago. Only 2 lb higher back chasing and fancied to make his presence felt.
