Timeform View

This sharp test will suit EXPLODE, who should have plenty more to offer in this sphere given his Flat ability. He is therefore marginally preferred to Crystal Mariner and Crackalackin.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Explode traded at a low of 13.00 and Betfair SP of 13.17 when losing last time, a race in which it raced prominently.

Timeform Comments

Crystal Mariner (IRE)
Fairly useful Flat winner (stays 1½m) who had plenty of racing for Jamie Osborne. Fair start to hurdling career when second of 15 at Ballinrobe 4 weeks ago and that puts him right in the mix here.
Happy Chandler
Modest 1¼m winner on the Flat who seemingly ran to a similar level sent hurdling when fifth of 9 at Worcester in July. Better to come somewhere down the line with a hood applied.
Crackalackin (IRE)
Fair handicapper on Flat (stays 1½m) who showed similar form over hurdles in the spring, including when second to a subsequent winner in 2m maiden at Huntingdon in May. Occupied same spot at Perth 3 weeks ago and he can make his presence felt again.
Explode (FR)
Improved form when finding only one too good at Taunton in January. Since added a pair of Flat wins to his tally and run at York last time was excusable upped in class. Sharp test will suit and is the one to beat back hurdling.
John Galt (FR)
Made third handicap start a winning one at Leicester in May. Didn't look totally straightforward at Southwell last time so remains to be seen how he'll take to hurdling for new connections.
Pay Attention
Established as modest on the level so looks up against it on this switch of discipline.
