HI LORD can have his run at Ayr a month ago ignored after meeting trouble leaving the stalls and, having dropped back down to his last winning mark, he is fancied to gain a second victory of the season. Last year's winner of this race Dream Deal isn't taken lightly, though, along with Ideal Guest who is the likely pace angle.

Timeform Comments

Kings Merchant
Cashed in on reduced mark at Chester (7f) in June, though benefited from a clear run in contrast to the second. Below-par effort dropped back to 6f when fifth of 9 at Thirsk last time and might not get the race run to suit kept at this distance.
Hi Lord
Bounced back to form when scoring at Hamilton (5f) in May and has had excuses 2 of his last 3 starts, bumped at the start when down the field at Ayr last month. Major player back up in trip.
Dream Deal
Successful twice over C&D last year, including this same race. Also won at Beverley in June and has made the frame 3 times since, before not getting a clear passage when well held at Beverley 9 days ago. Interesting back at this venue.
Winter Crown
Made a winning stable debut at Newcastle in November but form went the wrong way after his next start, eighth of 12 at Southwell (7f) when last seen in January. Others preferred after 8 months off.
Pit Boss
Hold-up performer who has won twice at Newcastle this year, overcoming a very slow start for his latest success in March. Denied a clear run when third at the same course later the same month, so needs things to drop right back on turf after 5 months off.
Ideal Guest (FR)
Had shown encouragement this season before ending his losing run when making all at Pontefract in June. Did too much too soon when fifth of 8 at this course (7f) 18 days ago, so he could be thereabouts back down in trip.
Solar Cooper
Capitalised on a drop in grade with cheekpieces fitted when winning at Ripon in May. Hasn't been in the same form in 3 subsequent outings, though, sixth of 8 at Beverley (7.5f) 8 weeks ago.
One Of Our Own
Benefited from the drop back to 6f when successful at Redcar in May and close third there the following month. Has shaped better than the result last 2 outings, meeting trouble when mid-field here 22 days ago. 3-time C&D winner so she could fare better.
Eldeyaar (IRE)
Responded well to the fitting of a visor when winning at Thirsk in April. Third on next 2 outings but not quite in the same form the last twice, fifth of 11 at Pontefract 6 weeks ago.
Aurora's Doublesix (IRE)
Long-standing maiden who again finished down the field when last of 8 in handicap at Newcastle 5 days ago.
