LITTLE TIGER has a good record here and caught the eye from an unpromising position at Lingfield last month. He could be the answer to the finale. Ricardo Phillips and Stipulation rate the principal dangers.

Timeform Comments

Forca Timao (IRE)
Been a while since he scored but posted a season's best when close third of 8 in handicap at Lingfield (1¼m, AW, 7/1) 22 days ago. Claims if building on that.
Stipulation (IRE)
Consistent performer who completed a double off 1 lb higher this time last year and ran creditably when 1½-length second to a next-time-out winner at Chepstow latest. Respected off same mark, though softer ground would be an unknown.
Jewel Maker (IRE)
Ended losing run with decisive victory in handicap (13/2) over shorter trip at Carlisle 12 days ago. 7 lb rise in the weights will make things significantly tougher here, though.
Ricardo Phillips
Posted career best when winning 6-runner handicap over C&D (good to firm) 30 days ago, kept up to work. 3 lb rise fair and looks sure to go well again. Cheekpieces on first time.
Merapi
Below par in first-time cheekpieces at Yarmouth when last seen in May. Proved consistent prior to that, however, and returns to action on a fair mark.
Cy Twombly (IRE)
Back to form from out of the blue when fourth at Wolverhampton in July but nowhere near that level at same course since. Best watched on turf debut.
Little Tiger
C&D winner who was having just his second start this term when good sixth of 12 in handicap at Lingfield (1¼m, AW) 28 days ago, never nearer. Figures off a handy mark and is one for the shortlist.
Knightmare (IRE)
Gained reward for a string of solid efforts when shedding maiden tag in classified race at Chepstow (1m) in July and posted fine second at Ffos Las 4 days later. May have been unsuited by slower ground when below par back at Chepstow since but others appeal more.
Withoutfurtherado (IRE)
Remains a maiden after 17 Flat runs and went with little promise over shorter trip at Yarmouth 9 days ago. Easy enough to look elsewhere.
Charencey (IRE)
Not scored since 2024 but he's knocking on the door, making the frame again when creditable third of 10 in minor event at Ffos Las (1¼m, good) 18 days ago. Visor back on. Likely to be in the mix again.
Dinah Myte
Doubled her tally in 1m handicap at Newcastle in June and has largely run well in defeat since. Others look better treated, though.
