Timeform View

CAPTAIN CESS has made a very good start for new connections and with this return to 7f in his favour, Declan Carroll's 4-y-o is fancied to double his tally. Filey Beach has largely held his form since landing back-to-back C&D handicaps in May, so he looks the main threat, with Electric Lightning and Showtime Mahomes taken to fight out minor honours.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Captain Cess traded at a low of 1.35 and Betfair SP of 2.20 when losing last time, a race in which it raced in mid-field.

Timeform Comments

Captain Cess (IRE)
Went close on Chepstow reappearance (final start for Adrian Wintle) before getting off the mark at the second attempt for this yard at Thirsk in July. Ran creditably without getting the clearest of passages when second of 8 at this track (6f) 5 weeks ago and can regain the winning thread.
Showtime Mahomes
Southwell scorer in January who shaped as if needing first outing for 5 months when fifth of 10 there early last month. Easy to excuse her subsequent Redcar effort so worth a second look having her first 7f start in nigh-on 2 years.
Saisons D'or (IRE)
Veteran who won at Southwell in April but hasn't figured in 4 subsequent starts, possibly more to it than racing up with the strong pace at Newcastle (7f) just under 6 weeks ago.
Secret Road (IRE)
Made a winning debut for Laura Mongan on all-weather at Lingfield (1m) in March but offered little back down in trip on first outing for new connections after 11 weeks off at Newcastle (6f) recently. Cheekpieces reapplied but easy to look elsewhere.
Jenni (IRE)
Ended last season and also started this one on a low note but much better signs with fourth of 9 over C&D in July, faring best of those held up. Failed by a long chalk to build on that at Doncaster since and has since switched yards.
Filey Beach (IRE)
Landed back-to-back C&D handicaps in May and largely held his form since, most recently when fifth of 10 at Beverley (8.5f, heavy) 10 days ago. Back down in trip.
Electric Lightning
Free-going type who had eased in the weights and returned to form on third start of present campaign when second of 11 to a subsequent winner at Beverley (7.5f) in July. Shaped as if still in top form when fourth of 11 at Doncaster (1m, firm) since so he would be folly to discount.
Miss Willows
Pair of 7f wins last year. Down the field first 2 starts this season but bounced back to best when second of 14 at Beverley (7.4f) in June. Not so good the last twice so a bounce back is needed.
Maui Breeze
Still looking for a first handicap success and has finished no better than mid-division this year, last of 9 at Carlisle (6f) when last seen in early-July. Back up in trip.
She's A Goldigger
Yet to score but she ran with credit in a first-time hood when third of 9 in classified event at Nottingham (6f) in June. Ran poorly back in handicap company at Newcastle a fortnight later and not seen since.
Mister Sky Blue (IRE)
On long losing run but gives his running more often than most at this level and wasn't disgraced when fourth of 13 in classified event over C&D (good to firm) recently. Each-way player.
