Timeform View

LORD MASSUSUS often keeps better company so is taken to end his losing run. This does look competitive, though, with veteran Clear Quartz and unexposed 3-y-o Never Loose heading the dangers.

Timeform Comments

Lord Massusus (IRE)
Probably past his prime now and failed to land a blow in the Irish Cambridgeshire last time, but even the pick of his most recent form would give him every chance on these terms. Blinkers on 1st time.
Clear Quartz (IRE)
Useful performance to win at Roscommon last year. Promising reappearance at Leopardstown in June but below that level since, though trip probably too far the last twice. Has a lot more going for him here (winner of this race 2 years ago).
Never Loose (IRE)
Won 15-runner maiden here (7f, heavy) on debut last autumn and made a promising handicap debut when fourth of 15 at Gowran on return in April. Off since but that form has worked out well and she remains with potential after just 2 starts.
Eddie G (IRE)
Making up for lost time now and made short work of a token 2 lb rise for his Naas win in July when following up here 6 days later, settling things in a matter of strides when asked. Not in same form at Roscommon last week but he's capable of making his presence felt here.
Musical Act (IRE)
Some respectable efforts on the all-weather earlier in the year but tailed off both starts back on the turf when last seen in June.
Java Wood (IRE)
Well on top at the finish when resuming winning ways at Gowran last week but another career best is required if he's to follow up here.
Lady Arwen
Was on a long losing run but has now won 3 of her last 5 starts, including when overcoming a very slow start and a wide draw in 17-runner handicap at the Festival here 6 weeks ago. Player in current mood.
Amenita (IRE)
Left debut behind to win maiden at Gowran on return in June but not in same form back on softer going when well held on handicap bow over C&D at the Festival 6 weeks ago.
Casamorati (IRE)
Stepped up markedly on previous efforts when a neck second of 18 in a C&D handicap at the Festival here but not in same form back on better ground at Killarney since. Remains low mileage so not taken lightly back on softer going.
