Timeform View

VIKING GLORY took a big step forward when returning to 7f with first-time cheekpieces at Brighton last month, and there should be more to come from James Owen's gelding now connections have figured him out. Violet Goldsmith arrives in good form following a creditable effort when stepped up in grade at Salisbury and can go well if proving as effective on all-weather, whilst The Bureau Club is dropped 5 lb after shaping well when not ideally placed at Chepstow so has to be considered.

Timeform Comments

Alkumatic Jo Jo (IRE)
Remains a maiden but ran one of her better races when third of 14 over C&D last month and now eases into 0-65 company for the first time. Only fifth of 9 at Southwell 9 days ago, though.
Mmmbop
Best effort in qualifying when third of 12 over C&D in April but failed to repeat that effort when eighth of 10 in a stronger race over 7f in May. Makes handicap debut after 105 days off and starting out for a new yard with a positive jockey booking so needs watching in the betting.
Battosai (IRE)
Still a maiden after 10 starts, leaving Brian Meehan before last 2 outings and shown little since, including when tailed off over C&D last time.
Viking Glory (IRE)
Struggled at sprint distances since joining current stable but found 7f much more to his liking when won at Brighton in a handicap 35 days ago in first-time cheekpieces. Up 5 lb and back up to 1m but he's hard to rule out now he's discovered the winning knack for excellent yard.
Green Interlude (IRE)
Failed to finish closer than fifth in 4 maidens in Ireland. Now returns after 137 days to make handicap debut on first start since changing stables and isn't well drawn.
The Bureau Club (FR)
Holds claims on second of 12 at Chepstow in a handicap last month and wasn't disgraced when fourth of 16 there in a higher grade 9 days ago. Has made the frame here previously and she's been given a chance by the handicapper so this return to 0-65 company could see her go close.
Wind Summer (IRE)
Best effort this year when second of 7 over 1m at Chelmsford in March. Went with no promise when last of 12 at Lingfield over 7f returning from 5 months off 27 days ago, though.
Diane Chasseresse
Lightly-raced filly who showed a bit when sixth of 11 at Windsor over 1m in July. Raced too freely when tailed off making handicap debut over 1¼m at Nottingham last time, though, and needs the drop back to this trip to help her settle better to achieve more here.
Coxy's Star
Creditable fourth of 8 in a handicap at Lingfield over 7f 15 days ago, matching the pick of her qualifying efforts, but more is still required back up to 1m.
Karakula Dancer
Won 3 times on all-weather for James Ferguson earlier this year, including over C&D. Ran well when third of 7 in a handicap at Newmarket 18 days ago on first outing for new yard after £20k sale and could take a hand if stall 12 doesn't prove prohibitive.
Oklahoma Dream (USA)
Modest form at best in qualifying for a mark and now drops to 1m for handicap debut. Stable struggling for winners at present so best watched.
Violet Goldsmith
Off the mark at Chepstow in July and backed that up with a creditable second of 8 at Salisbury 19 days ago when stepped up in grade, beaten by a stronger stayer. Comes here in better form than most and should go well assuming she can prove herself suited by all-weather.
Cosmic Jive (IRE)
Modest form at best to date and struggled in similar company at Ffos Las on handicap debut last month. Plenty more required from a tough draw.
Dor's Dazzler
Yet to win in 4 maiden starts, most recently only seventh of 8 at Wolverhampton 41 days ago. Plenty of progress required on handicap debut.
