Timeform View

LUMINOUS WARRIOR has got on a roll in recent months and might prove the answer to this big-field handicap. Hatamoto is another who has enjoyed a productive summer and is second choice ahead of fellow 3-y-o Sailor Batt, who was in good form when last seen in the spring. The Childe of Hale can also figure dropping into a Class 6 handicap for the first time.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Luminous Warrior traded at more than 5 times Betfair SP and 2 times Betfair SP when winning on 2 of its last 5 starts: Uncertainty traded at 25% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP on 2 of its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Finn Ironside
Back to winning ways over 7f at Newcastle (good record there) on Saturday. Should be competitive under a 5 lb penalty back on turf.
Emery Down
Finally recorded her first handicap success when comfortably seeing off 7 rivals on soft ground at Chepstow (7f) 11 days ago. Hit with a 9 lb rise so a career best will be needed to follow up.
The Childe Of Hale
Sole success came over 7f at Doncaster in July 2025. Has largely struggled since but fared a bit better with cheekpieces added (retained) when fifth of 12 back at Doncaster (7f) 25 days ago. Enters calculations.
Luminous Warrior (IRE)
Ended his time with Dylan Cunha with back-to-back wins at Yarmouth (1m/6f) and went agonisingly close to extending the winning sequence for new stable at Musselburgh (7f, good to firm) 15 days ago, headed final strides. Has to be respected in current mood.
Camera Shy (IRE)
Ended a losing run stretching back to his debut at Southwell (7f) in March. Hasn't really threatened to add to that since but made late gains for fifth over 6f at Hamilton last week and the return to 7f may help.
Mayo County
Registered a second C&D success in May. Freshened up since a lesser run here in June. Capable of bouncing back.
Travis
Won over C&D (good) in June. Creditable third on next 3 outings but his run of good form came to a halt at Thirsk (1m) last time.
Hatamoto
Front-runner who made it 3 wins in his last 5 starts when just holding on in amateur rider race at Thirsk (1m, good) 12 days ago. A further 2 lb nudge shouldn't prevent another prominent showing from this thriving sort.
Rousham
Successful over C&D in May but showed all his quirks when fourth of 13 in a handicap at Newcastle in June, looking set to win before veering across the track. Never figured over 6f at Nottingham 3 weeks later and freshened up since.
Bleep Test
Won a 6f course maiden last season but hasn't offered much in her 4 outings this season, faring no better with blinkers added last time. Cheekpieces go on this time.
Sailor Batt (IRE)
Fair maiden who placed in 3 of 4 handicap starts earlier in the year, including turf, and should be very competitive if ready to roll after 5 months off.
Black Rock Beauty (IRE)
Struck over C&D (good to firm) in first-time cheekpieces (retained since) in May. Good third of 15 at Doncaster next time but 2 lesser runs have followed.
Uncertainty (IRE)
Remains a maiden (previously trained by Richard Hannon) and hasn't seriously threatened in 5 outings for her current yard.
Cavallo Pazzo (IRE)
Failed to threaten in 4 outings last season and a watching brief is advised back from 11 months off unless the betting speaks in his favour.
Sun Of Dolly
Maiden. Best effort when second of 7 at Epsom (7f, good to firm) in July. Well beaten in a Class 4 at Newmarket last month but likely to be a lot more competitive back in a Class 6.
Head For Freedom
Sole success came in a claimer on second start in May 2025. Latest Ayr eighth took his handicap record to 0-9 and others arrives with more pressing claims.
Gwen's Girl
Runner-up on debut last September but unable to match that form since, faring no better for cheekpieces at Leicester (1¼m) when last seen in June. Drops back in trip after 3 months off. Others are more persuasive.
Secret Testimony
Successful on all-weather debut at Newcastle (7f) last November but that remains a standout effort, finishing a well-held sixth over 1¼m here last time.
