Timeform View

Unless the betting speaks in the favour of one of the newcomers this looks AL JOLSON's for the taking on the back of a very encouraging second at Southwell.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Al Jolson traded at a low of 2.06 and Betfair SP of 3.10 when losing last time, a race in which it led.

Timeform Comments

Who's The Goat (IRE)
66/1, showed ability when third of 5 in maiden at Pontefract (1½m, good to firm) on debut 72 days ago. Significantly down in trip.
Al Jolson
Night of Thunder gelding who made an encouraging start to his career when narrowly denied in 1m Southwell novice 24 days, pulling clear of the rest. Should improve and leading claims for powerful stable.
Arabian Desert
Plenty of promise in 3 outings as a juvenile, culminating with second in Group 3 Horris Hill at Newbury (7f, heavy). Beaten at very short odds on Pontefract but turns out he was up against a useful one. Off since folding tamely at Chester in May (gelded). NON RUNNER.
Classy Night (IRE)
Twice-raced gelding. Stepped up on debut when fourth of 7 in maiden at Lingfield (1m, all-weather) 13 days ago but beaten 8½ lengths and the form is only modest.
Eagleonthebalcony
Gleneagles gelding. Closely related to winner abroad by The Gurkha. Dam 1m winner out of smart 1m-1½m performer Front House. A watching brief is advised on debut.
Eagles Instinct (IRE)
18/1, 12 lengths fifth of 8 in maiden at Hamilton (8.3f, good to firm) on debut 29 days ago. Probably one for later on.
Mr Black Diamond
Aclaim gelding. Dam 5f-7f winner. Will need to be pretty useful to go close on debut.
Train In Vain
Masar gelding. Half-brother to several winners, including 2-y-o 6f winner Majestic Wave and 8.6f winner Cuban Harry. Dam 2-y-o 5.3f winner. Bred to have a future but bit of a surprise to see him strike on debut.
Stateira Belle
€38,000 Persian King filly. Half-sister to useful French winner up to 1m Rosapenna and Spanish 7.4f-11f winner Eddy's Dream. The betting should help guide to expectations with this newcomer.
Suntino Lady
Hinted at ability in a pair of 7f outings last month but handicaps are likely to be more her thing.
Walk In Provence (IRE)
Frankel half-sister to 5f winner Correspondence. Dam useful 2-y-o winner around 7f. Her good pedigree provides hope that she can make an impact on debut.
