CARNIVAL DAY figures off a handy mark and boasts a solid record at this venue. He could be the answer to a tricky-looking contest. Beach Point and Patrol can also make their presence felt.

Timeform Comments

Moonrunner
Back from 10 weeks off when creditable fourth of 9 in handicap at Lingfield (1¼m, AW) 19 days ago, nearest finish. Remains low mileage and is not taken lightly.
Patrol (IRE)
Not scored for some time but ran up to best, in first-time visor, when good second of 8 in handicap at Yarmouth (1¼m, good) 11 days ago, just failing. Can race off same mark here so must enter calculations.
Carnival Day (IRE)
Not the most consistent but goes well at this course and arrives on the back of creditable third of 8 in handicap (9/2) at Sandown (1¼m, good to soft) 13 days ago. Dropped 1 lb since and is one for the shortlist.
Beach Point (IRE)
Recorded back-to-back wins at Sandown (1¼m) last summer and opened account for this campaign when landing 7-runner handicap over a shorter trip at Goodwood 13 days ago. 4 lb rise fair and ought to go well again.
Skibo
From a useful family and he was placed in 2 small-field handicaps at Salisbury last summer. No impact in a couple of starts this term, however, including on debut for new yard last month.
Barry's Boy (IRE)
Returned to winning ways at Newcastle (1m) in March and back to that sort of form when second over a longer trip at Wolverhampton in July. Needs to bounce back from a poor effort at Lingfield, though.
Thankyou Baroness
Won over longer trip at Doncaster last summer but rather gone backwards since and hasn't been seen since a modest effort at Wolverhampton in February.
Super Hit (FR)
Done well since joining this yard, winning over C&D and at Windsor in July. Returned to form when fifth of 8 in handicap over shorter trip at this course 10 days ago but has little in hand off his current mark.
Bobacious
Produced his best form since joining current yard to take advantage of a sliding mark in C&D handicap in July. Disappointed at Brighton since, though, and percentage call is to look elsewhere.
Yokkell (IRE)
Well backed and gained a first win for current yard in handicap over a longer trip at Bath in July. However, finds herself in a deeper contest here and was disappointing at Chester last time.
