SYTADEL has been off since winning a French maiden last spring but could be worth chancing to make a winning hurdles debut for the powerful Skelton yard. Lock Stock would be a major player if back to the form of his first 2 hurdles starts, while Action Replay is worth a look starting out for Charlie Longsdon.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Lock Stock traded at a low of 4.10 and Betfair SP of 5.58 when losing last time, a race in which it raced prominently:

Timeform Comments

Baltic
Regressive stayer on the Flat but showed aptitude when third of 11 in novice hurdle over this C&D (good, 28/1) on jumps debut 18 days ago.
Billy Butcher (IRE)
Modest at best in bumpers and showed only poor form in 2 hurdling starts in 2024. Easy to oppose after lengthy absence.
Bluey Bay
Modest fifth in 2 bumpers and well held on 2m Lingfield hurdle debut. Pulled up over 3m at Chepstow when last seen in March and looks easy to oppose again.
Emerald Tir
£16,000 3-y-o, Walk In The Park gelding is out of a sister to high-class hurdler/top-class chaser (stayed 25f) Menorah. Fared best of the newcomers when fourth in a 9-runner bumper here in June. Not discounted on hurdles debut.
Lock Stock
Runner-up on 2 of 3 bumper starts last winter and filled the same position on his first 2 hurdle outings in the autumn. Found to have broken a blood vessel when disappointing at Kempton when last seen on Boxing Day, which is a concern for all he'd be a leading player on form. Has left Ben Pauling.
Thepassingcyclone
Showed some ability amidst greenness when rallying for fifth in 10-runner bumper at Chepstow on debut in January. However, went backwards from that effort when tailed off at Exeter the following month and was soundly beaten when suffering a tack issue on hurdles bow at Fontwell in May.
Action Replay (IRE)
€55,000 3-y-o, Vadamos gelding. Half-brother to fairly useful hurdlers Haveigotnewsforyou and Batwomen, stays 21f. Dam (c133/h115) 2m-2½m hurdle/chase winner. Behind when falling 4 out in an Irish point in February but worth a betting check given connections.
Arbitration (IRE)
NON RUNNER.
C'est Pour Moi (FR)
Pour Moi gelding who looked a hard ride second time up in bumpers when sixth of 9 here in June and proved awkward again when last of 7 on hurdles bow at Perth 26 days ago. Cheekpieces go on.
Giant's Way (IRE)
Had a breathing operation prior to debut (tongue tied) and failed to live up to expectations in a course bumper in June. Made some late headway on his second start over hurdles over this C&D 18 days ago but handicaps are likelier to be his thing.
Savanna Storm (IRE)
Settled better and showed a bit more than on bumper debut when third at Newton Abbot (17f, good to firm) in July but well beaten switched to hurdling over this C&D 18 days ago. Wears first-time hood.
Sytadel (FR)
Decisive winner of an 11-runner maiden at Le Lion-d'Angers (1½m, good to soft) on his second outing on the Flat for Xavier Blanchet last May. Has since joined leading connections and he's a very interesting recruit to hurdling now sporting a tongue strap.
Teleleo
Telescope gelding who was unfancied in the betting but knew his job well and made a winning start in 10-runner bumper here (2m) in May. Went backwards from that effort when fourth of 7 at Uttoxeter in July and makes hurdles debut in first-time hood. NON RUNNER.
Troy Story
Fair on the Flat for Alan King/Eve Johnson Houghton but left previous connections for just 5,000 gns and is probably opposable making hurdles debut after 7 months off.
