Karl Burke's improving WAASIL is fancied to land the hat-trick in an open-looking nursery. There could be better to come from Al Wathba (sole runner with Group entries), and he's feared most.

Timeform Comments

Al Wathba (FR)
Scopey €900,000 Wootton Bassett colt who shaped well when behind the subsequent Acomb winner Haffner on debut. Still looked to be learning when turned over at Leicester before making no mistake at Kempton (1m) last time. Opening mark demands more but he remains with potential (holds Group entries).
Waasil
Progressive son of Ardad who made it 2 wins from 3 starts in a 4-runner nursery at Newbury (7f) towards the end of July. A 6 lb rise doesn't look insurmountable given he was well on top at the finish, especially with more improvement to come over this extra 1f. May well make it a hat-trick.
Zarakova
190,000 Zarak filly who made the most of her experience when getting off the mark in 4-runner maiden at Newmarket (1m) on qualifying run. She's in the right hands to progress again, though does lack the size of some of the colts in the field.
Metamouse (IRE)
Steadily improving type. Off the mark at second time of asking at Chester (6f, soft) in June. Suited by the step up in distance when 1¼ lengths third behind Waasil on nursery bow at Newbury (7f) latest. Reopposes on better terms and longer trip/subsequent gelding operation could eke out a bit more.
Keep Grating (IRE)
Took a firm grip when narrow second over C&D on his third career start prior to knuckling down well to go one better at Yarmouth (7f) last time. May well have more to offer switched to a nursery, though will need to settle again now tried over longer trip (quite speedily bred).
Primal
Flew home from a poor position when beaten just over 2 lengths in the Whispering Angel at Goodwood. Since proved himself well treated behind one with more in hand at Newbury (7f). Pedigree offers hope that 1m will prove within range, and he's respected back up in grade (yard also saddle Zarakova).
