Timeform View

This can go the way of LAKE COMO, who made the frame without being seen to best effect at Kempton recently and George Boughey's charge is worth another chance to open his account for the campaign. Kaindy didn't need to advance his form to get off the mark last month and is open to improvement now handicapping, he's put forward as the main threat. Rogue Defence rounds off the shortlist.

Timeform Comments

Lake Como (IRE)
Won novice/handicap on all-weather last December. Sound efforts in defeat on first 2 outings this year but hasn't kicked on as expected, in cheekpieces last time (also gelded prior) but not seen to best effect when fourth of 9 in handicap at Kempton (1m) recently. Worth another chance.
Rogue Defence
Dark Angel gelding who went 2-3 with victory in 12-runner C&D novice in July, always holding on. Improved further sent handicapping when fourth of 8 at Kempton (1m) just over 3 weeks ago and warrants plenty of respect back here (2-2).
Vincenzo Peruggia (IRE)
Ready winner of Beverley novice last summer. Very good second at Musselburgh on reappearance/handicap debut but hasn't kicked on, though did prove more competitive in a less well-contested handicap when fourth at Newmarket last month. Mark eases another 2 lb on all-weather bow.
Kaindy (IRE)
Strong in the betting and didn't need to improve to get off the mark with something to spare in 7-runner novice at Kempton (7f) just over a fortnight ago. Remains open to improvement with the demands of a well-run handicap sure to suit much better.
Loblolly (IRE)
Found it easier back down markedly in grade and gained a first win in handicap company sporting first-time cheekpieces in 4-runner event at Epsom (8.5f, firm) last month. That form hasn't worked out so others are more appealing here.
Queen Tamara (IRE)
Made it third time lucky at Chepstow last summer and has worked her way back to form this season, most recently when third of 10 in handicap at Redcar (1m, good) just under 3 weeks ago. Heads into the autumn fresher than most so should remain competitive on all-weather debut. Cheekpieces applied.
