Timeform View

LEAVE IN SECRET went like the best horse at the weights when runner-up at Wexford last time, and he may be able to go one better here. Sayitfirst looks interesting on the pick of her chase form, while Lady Doyanne and Stoneyford Lady both appeal for the excellent Henry De Bromhead yard.

Timeform Comments

Leave In Secret (IRE)
Fairly useful sort who landed the first of his 2 hurdle wins at this track. Went like the best horse at the weights when 4¼ lengths second of 8 in Wexford handicap chase latest, reeled in at the last having overdone things in front. Fancied to get off the mark over fences here.
Mo Ghille Mar (IRE)
Useful winner on Flat last year. Only a fair type over hurdles, doubling her tally courtesy of a career-best effort (when allowed the run of things) at Down Royal (17f) last time. Probably needs more again to make a winning start over fences.
Lady Doyanne (IRE)
Lightly-raced 6-y-o. Followed up point success when a well-backed winner on hurdle debut at Wexford last season. Going the right way over fences, only going down by ½-length at Wexford (2m) latest. Tongue strap now added and shouldn't be long in opening her chase account for excellent yard.
Farrokh (FR)
Fair sort. Produced a more assured round of jumping than previously when off the mark over fences at Wexford (2m) on return. Seemingly anchored by a 7-lb rise when beaten 11¾ lengths there (19f) subsequently, mistakes creeping in as the race was taking shape.
Ballybrittas (IRE)
Improved to open his account over fences at Wexford (2m) in late-July. Unable to confirm that form with Lady Doyanne when 4 lengths third there subsequently. May fall short again off an unchanged mark.
Claude (IRE)
Wexford maiden hurdle winner for Joseph O'Brien last summer. Hasn't fully fired for current connections (reflected in his mark) and no guarantee he revives for the switch to fences.
Custers Mistake (IRE)
Doubled his tally with an easy victory in 2½m handicap hurdle at Wexford in August last year. Off 13 months since, though, and is 0-7 over fences (8 lb lower than his hurdles mark).
Stoneyford Lady (IRE)
Made her second chase start a winning one at Thurles last November. Looks to have returned in similar heart, a 6-day turnaround perhaps a factor in her finding less than looked likely at Galway (2¼m) latest, finishing 5 lengths fourth of 20. Likely player given more time between races here.
Sayitfirst (IRE)
Veteran who beat a couple of fairly useful sorts when successful in a novice handicap chase at Sligo last October. Should be all the better for a pipe-opener over hurdles here last month and makes appeal back chasing with Michael Kenneally taking over.
Poppycon (IRE)
Low-mileage maiden who has finished runner-up a couple of times over hurdles. Clearly wasn't 100% in a Wexford handicap hurdle on latest start in early-August. Now switches to fences and is at least bred to be a chaser (also placed in points)
Bossing It (IRE)
Sole success came in Kilbeggan maiden hurdle last summer. Has gone backwards from a promising second at Wexford in May this year, running even worse when beaten 18 lengths on chasing debut at Tramore (2m, 10/3) last time.
Fedneys Park (IRE)
Winning pointer. Has hit the frame twice over hurdles. Blotted her copybook when giving trouble at the start/trailing the field in Downpatrick novice latest. Tongue strap on for chasing debut and yard has better-fancied runners in here.
Le Diablo (FR)
Got off the mark with a strong-travelling performance in a handicap hurdle at Clonmel in April. Kept busy since and wasn't disgraced when 14¾ lengths fourth at Downpatrick latest. On a fair mark if translating the best of her form to fences at the first time of asking.
Phoenix Arizona (IRE)
Unpromising in points/sole chase start. Showed more for current yard when placing in handicap hurdles at Sligo this summer (possibly stretched by 2½m there latest). Hard to be confident he'll translate that improvement over fences, though.
Itsalonglongroad
Veteran C&D winner. Finished closer than previously this year when 12¾ lengths third of 8 at Tramore last time, however, he'll need to build on that in another change of headgear.
Roccabaker (IRE)
Sole success came in handicap hurdle at Tramore (2¾m, heavy) on New Year's Day. Went off the boil subsequently and may find this on the sharp side sent chasing following 4 months away.
Political Stance (IRE)
Low-mileage 6-y-o (isn't bred to be much) who never looked like landing a gamble on return here (23f) last month. Worth another market check sent chasing from a lowly mark. RESERVE
Feet On The Ground (IRE)
Maiden who didn't kick on from a promising enough third on chasing debut in May. Hood fitted on first run for yard since leaving Fergal O'Brien and she has a little bit to prove following 9 weeks away. RESERVE
Coole Vision (IRE)
Pulled up in a point in the spring. Offered little in couple of hurdle starts since and is a long way out of the weights on chasing debut. RESERVE
