Timeform View

THE QUIET GENT returned from a 10-month absence (gelded during that time) with a solid second starting out for a new yard at Brighton 5 weeks ago and, with fewer miles on the clock than plenty in this field, is given the chance to build on that with first-time cheekpieces now enlisted. Sergeant Pep, Baldomero and the hat-trick seeking Safari Dream head the dangers, along with Tenbob Tommy in a competitive affair.

Timeform Comments

Under The Twilight
C&D winner who has been in excellent heart in recent months, adding a fourth course success to her tally at Windsor (6f) in August. Not in same form when eighth of 9 over same C&D 2 weeks ago but she's not the type to stay down for long.
Rare Change (IRE)
Returned to form in refitted cheekpieces when landing 8-runner handicap at Goodwood (7f, soft) in June. No better than midfield on each of his 3 starts in stronger handicaps more recently and whilst this is less demanding, he needs to keep the slow starts at bay.
Supreme King (IRE)
Is enjoying an excellent season and gained a fourth success over C&D in August. Posted another good effort from a poor draw with fifth at Chester next time and excuses on account of where he raced at Windsor (6f) latest. Type to bounce back quickly.
Baldomero (IRE)
Four-time winner on turf/all-weather in 2025 who arrives having posted a solid fourth of 9 in handicap at Beverley (5f, heavy) 2 weeks ago. Eases further in class now operating from a career-low mark and the return to 6f will pose no fears. Possibilities.
The Quiet Gent (IRE)
4-y-o who ran as well as he ever has done when 2 lengths second of 10 in handicap at Brighton (6f) on comeback for new yard after 10 months off (geled during absence) 5 weeks ago. Found only a lightly raced younger rival too good then and worth a chance to build on that with cheekpieces now fitted.
Sergeant Pep (IRE)
Winless since 2024 but placed on each of his 3 all-weather outings since earlier this year and he ran creditably after 5 months off when staying on for third at Windsor (6f) 2 weeks ago. Has plenty of form in testing conditions and he's respected from same mark.
Tenbob Tommy
Didn't need to improve to get off the mark in a Lingfield novice back in January and followed up returned to handicap company 3 months later in 9-runner event at Leicester. Solid efforts in defeat last month, latterly when collared late on by Under The Twilight at Windsor 25 days ago. Player again.
Padua (IRE)
Usually a free-going sort who turned in his best effort of the present campaign when third of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7f) 24 days ago. Well-run race dropped to 6f could suit if handling underfoot conditions.
Safari Dream (IRE)
Three-time C&D winner who resumed winning ways in refitted cheekpieces at Ffos Las (6f) and confirmed himself at the top of his game minus the headgear when following up in gritty fashion over same C&D 3 weeks ago. This tougher but firmly respected in hat-trick bid.
