Timeform View

TWO COMMANDERS was well served by the return to this trip and looked one to keep on side when doubling his tally at Musselburgh 18 days ago. A 3 lb rise certainly doesn't look insurmountable and he's fancied to follow up from a handy draw. Karl Burke's French recruit Scutari and Dublin Bay are a couple of the chief dangers.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Ran Amok traded at 25% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP on 2 of its last 5 starts: Ubetterseethis has traded at 50% or less of Betfair SP twice on its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Alfa Whiteburd (IRE)
Facile winner under a positive ride over C&D in July prior to bagging pair of 6f Pontefract handicaps thereafter. Had winning run ended on back of another rise in weights when sixth at latter-named venue 4 weeks ago and more needed now returned to 7f.
Blue Prince (IRE)
Doubled his tally for the campaign when landing 6-runner claimer over an extended 7f here in August. Has performed no more than respectably in finishing mid-field in pair of class 2 handicaps at up to 1m since but down in grade now and forecast conditions will pose no fears.
Dublin Bay (IRE)
Improved model on all-weather/refitted with cheekpieces this year, dominant when adding to his tally at Wolverhampton (7f) in May. Ran a cracker after 3 months off/from much-inflated mark when third at Southwell (7f) 2 weeks ago and not out of the question we've yet to see all he has to offer.
Start Me Up
Son of Mehmas who has stepped forward following a gelding operation, the second leg of a course double coming over C&D in June. Solid efforts in defeat next 2 starts and possible he was stretched by the step up to 1m at York on his latest outing 3 weeks ago. This less demanding.
Marlborough Place (IRE)
Limerick maiden winner (1m) on second of 2 starts for Adrian Murray last summer. Matched that form starting out for new yard when fourth at Kempton (7f) in February but lightly raced and hasn't scaled same heights either start in handicaps subsequently for new yard. Others more convincing.
Scutari
From a fine Juddmonte family. Showed improved form to get off the mark on all-weather at Deauville (6.5f) in early-January before being sold out of the H-F. Devin yard for 62,000 gns. Likely more to come from this handicap debutant considering his excellent new yard for all his draw could be tricky.
Hungarian (IRE)
3-y-o who showed improved form in refitted blinkers/dropped back in trip when opening his account at Wolverhampton (7f) in July, a patient ride in a well-run race paying dividends. Run possibly excused when fifth at Sandown (1m) since although not for the first time didn't look straightforward.
Two Commanders
Progressive son of Mohaather who resumed progress after 6 weeks off when landing 10-runner handicap at Musselburgh over this trip 18 days ago (The Resdev Scholar back in fourth). 3 lb rise for that success looks fair and lot to like from handy draw with prospect of more to come.
Ran Amok (IRE)
Dual 6f winner who ran well on the back of a breathing operation when placed over that trip here/Doncaster in June. Not disgraced and shaped as if he'd come forward from last week's Haydock sixth and he's lightly raced over 7f.
King Of Thunder
Improved following a gelding operation when making a successful nursery debut at Haydock (7f, good to soft) in October. Seen only twice since, feasible to think he'll sharpen up following his creditable fourth (after 4 months off) back at Haydock (7f, soft) 6 days ago. Yard also saddle Ran Amok.
The Resdev Scholar (IRE)
NON RUNNER.
Paws For Thought (IRE)
Three-time C&D winner who added to his tally over 5.5f here 12 months ago. However, essentially out of sorts this season, albeit not helped by racing wide when last of 9 over extended 7f here 2 months ago. Had breathing operation ahead of this and cheekpieces back on in place of blinkers.
Giant
Took advantage of his reduced mark when landing 16-runner contest at Brighton 16 days ago, the runner-up scoring next time. Wide trip did him no favours when below form eighth at Catterick (6f) 3 days ago but this a much more demanding assignment in any case from out of the weights.
Ubetterseethis
Firm ground C&D winner last summer who resumed from 6 months off (also gelded) with a good third at Beverley (7.4f) in April. Form up and down since and others look stronger for win purposes.
