A significant drop in class could be the catalyst for CALLIANASSA to record a first success on turf. The main danger is Sunriseontheboyne, who's still potentially well treated on the back of his Newcastle victory, while Bee Farmer may make more impact if settling off the likely strong pace.

Timeform Comments

Callianassa (IRE)
Four-time all-weather winner. Only beaten 3½ lengths in the Kensington Palace at Royal Ascot a few starts back. Not in same form since, however, this is a massive drop in grade. Very interesting in a race that should be run to suit.
Style Of Life (IRE)
Ground-versatile front runner who recorded back-to-back wins at Chester/Pontefract last summer. Sprung back to life in first-time cheekpieces when 1-length second to an improved 3-y-o at Beverley (8.5f, heavy) latest. May face competition for the lead here, though.
Sunriseontheboyne (IRE)
Forward-going type who was a 6-time winner in Ireland. Fared much better than previously for current yard (foretold by the betting) when capitalising on a tumbling mark at Newcastle (1m, 9/2) latest. Showed a good attitude that day, and a 4-lb rise hardly looks prohibitive on the best of his form.
Yermanthere (IRE)
Enhanced a fine Ripon record when cosily doubling his tally for the year in 1¼m handicap last time. He has proven effective away from that track and a strongly-run 9f should suit his style here. Place claims off 3 lb higher.
Good Morning Alex
Notched a seventh career success at Ripon last April. Has been in the doldrums this year, though, faring no better on return from 3 months away at Beverley (8.5f, heavy) last time.
Bee Farmer
Low-mileage 3-y-o. Didn't fully settle in first-time blinkers when 3¾ lengths fourth behind Sunriseontheboyne at Newcastle (1m) latest. The extra furlong is a question mark on pedigree (quite speedily bred), however, he's potentially well treated following a 2 lb reprieve from the handicapper.
Showcasing Star (IRE)
Lightly-raced 3-y-o. Best form to date has come on the all-weather, including his latest run when 2¼ lengths third of 6 in a maiden handicap at Wolverhampton latest. Needs to prove he can build on that in a stronger event on turf.
Minaun View
Irish raider who registered a third claiming success of the summer at Gowran (1m) in August. Typically headstrong when beaten 11 lengths over same C&D last time. Bit to find at the weights back in a handicap, even if proving more tractable here.
Mayor Of Maghera
Wore first-time cheekpieces when successful in a solid handicap for the grade over C&D in June (now 1 lb lower). Fared better than of late when beaten 4¼ lengths on return to this track latest, however, he didn't go with much zest in his usual headgear.
Motawaared
Quirky sort. Went as close as he has when ¾-length second in refitted cheekpieces over C&D last time, beating a couple of today's rivals in the process. Player if he can build on that in a slightly better race.
Penelope's Sister (IRE)
Won 3 times over 1m at Ayr in 2025. Has been sharper from the stalls in recent starts. That hasn't correlated with an upturn in form, though, travelling better than most before failing to see out her race in lesser company at Hamilton (1m, soft) last time.
