Timeform View

The ex-Irish MANO CHICAGO was an eye-catcher on his debut for Iain Jardine last time and gets the verdict despite stall 10 being a bit of a concern. Impartiality, Shafdar and Star Cast all arrive in good form and are worth shortlisting in a competitive affair.

Timeform Comments

Spioradalta
Likeable and genuine sort won this race as part of a 4-timer last season and has notched 2 wins at Ripon this campaign. Good second there on his penultimate outing but struggled in a better race at Hamilton 3 weeks ago and handicapper might now have his measure.
Shafdar (IRE)
Relatively lightly-raced 4-y-o who won (around 1m) at Chelmsford and Epsom in early 2026 for current yard. Got back on the up when making the frame in competitive handicaps at Glorious Goodwood and York's Ebor Festival on his last 2 outings. Can go well again.
Box To Box (IRE)
Three-time C&D winner (this race in 2023) who made all from reduced mark at Haydock last June and finished 2025 with a pair of good runner-up efforts, including to Spioradalta in this race. Shaped as if needing the run on return from 11-month break when sixth of 8 at Windsor (1¼m) 30 days ago.
Purple Moon (IRE)
Left debut form well behind to win 17-runner maiden at Gowran (9.6f) in April, suited by longer trip. Then sold from P. O'Rourke's yard (65,000 gns) and seemed to pay for trying to match strides with an exciting rival when fourth in a Kempton novice last month. Open to progress now handicapping.
Sujet
Won twice at up to 9f for Dermot Weld in Ireland last year. Bounced back to best for current handler in first-time blinkers with a clear second of 9 in handicap here (7.6f) last month and seemed clearly unsuited by the step up in trip at York 3 weeks ago.
Wisper (IRE)
Made a winning reappearance at Windsor (11.4f) in May and has remained in good form since, finding only a trio of less-exposed 3-y-os too strong when fourth of 7 in handicap at Goodwood (1¼m, good to firm, 33/1) 43 days ago.
Impartiality
Hold-up performer who won 3 on the spin early last summer. Has found only one too good on each of his last 3 outings, again travelling fluently when second of 10 in handicap at Beverley (1¼m, heavy, 11/4) 13 days ago. Shortlist material from inside stall.
Star Cast
On the go since the turn of the year and gained a superb sixth win of 2026 in Ayr handicap over this trip in June. Has reached the placings from this career-high mark both starts since, most recently in a 7-runner race at Haydock (1¼m, good to soft) 9 days ago.
Mano Chicago (IRE)
Fairly useful maiden in Ireland for Johnny Murtagh and made a good start for new connections (sold 48,000 gns) when third of 13 in handicap at Ayr (1¼m, good) 33 days ago, catching the eye with how he travelled. Visor on 1st time.
Qitaal
Seemed to benefit from the reapplication of the visor when ending a lengthy losing run in a 9-runner handicap at Newcastle (1¼m) 9 days ago. Might need more having gone up 4 lb for that success, but any rain would be a positive.
No More Porter (IRE)
Largely running well without winning this season and was quickly back to form when fourth at Laytown on Thursday. Visor on 1st time but others preferred given quick turnaround.
