Timeform View

SOLAR SWING's debut at Newbury was full of promise and with plenty from his excellent stable improving markedly on second run, he is taken to do likewise. National Honour will stay further than this but he's a well-bred last-time-out winner with the scope to go on improving, so he's a threat, along with Farasan.

Timeform Comments

National Honour (IRE)
€180,000 Wootton Bassett colt. Wasn't knocked about when 2 lengths second of 7 over an inadequate trip on debut at Newmarket (6f). Looked better as the race wore on when landing the odds upped to 7f at Thirsk a month ago. Penalised but a talented claimer is booked and there's more to come.
Farasan
Showed plenty despite finishing sixth of 8 in maiden at Newmarket (7f, good to firm) on debut last month. Drop to 6f looked against him when merely matching that form here 12 days ago and there's more to come back over this distance.
Gut Reaction (FR)
Foaled February 3. €80,000 yearling (private sale), Too Darn Hot gelding. Dam French maiden half-sister to 6f-1m winner Kingentleman out of very smart 2-y-o 5.5f/6f winner Restiadargent.
Kingdom Of Heaven
Foaled April 7. 7,000 gns Masar gelding. Half-brother to winner up to 7f Surfina and 5f winner Lucky Charm. Dam winner up to 6f (2-y-o 5f winner). Little short-term promise on C&D debut 12 days ago.
Mainshock (USA)
Foaled April 13. $125,000 yearling, €150,000 2-y-o, Epicenter colt. Half-brother to 3 winners, including 2-y-o 7f winner Gasper de Lemos and 2-y-o 6f winner Flushing Meadows, both useful. Too green to show much on recent debut at Chepstow.
Rupert The Brave (IRE)
Pitched in quite deep on debut in a maiden at Glorious Goodwood and clearly derived plenty from that when third of 7 at Newbury (1m) a month ago. Tongue strap on and return to 7f should be in his favour.
Solar Swing (IRE)
Sales price rose to 235,000 gns as a 2-y-o, Starman colt. Half-brother to several winners, including useful 5.5f winner Mighty Eriu. Dam, maiden, closely related to smart 2-y-o 5f/5.5f winner Signora Cabello. Looks the part and very promising debut at Newbury. Lots more to come.
Stephen's Secret
Foaled February 14. 16,000 gns foal, 20,000 gns yearling, Pinatubo colt. Half-brother to 3 winners, including useful 2-y-o 7f/1m winner Accumulate and 7f winner Trueman. Dam 1m winner. Wears hood for debut.
Intangible Truth (IRE)
Foaled February 22. 40,000 gns yearling, Sioux Nation filly. Dam, winner up to 7f (2-y-o 6f winner), half-sister to useful 5f/6f winner Ginger Nut. Newcomer for top stable but quite a few have fared better with a run behind them.
