DONNA NOOK makes plenty of appeal on her best form and could be worth another chance in this grade. Headstrong Always Blue is capable of better in handicaps and needs considering, along with Ravishing Beauty, who is back on her latest winning mark.

Timeform Comments

Catton Lady
Beat a next-time-out winner when opening her account for the year at Ayr (7f, good) last month. Shaped as though still in form when beaten 5¼ lengths in this grade at Ripon last time but could be vulnerable off an unchanged mark.
Alessia Fernanda (IRE)
Latest success came in this grade at Southwell on return (following a breathing operation) in April. Now 1 lb below that mark, however, it's hard to be confident that she's in the form to capitalise.
Donna Nook
Notched a first handicap success in a similar event at Ripon in early-June. Followed up with some creditable in-frame efforts prior to disappointing back in a 0-70 at Ripon last time. She could be worth another chance off 1 lb below her latest winning mark.
Kiss Me My Love (IRE)
Smooth-travelling filly who's won a pair of 1m Redcar handicaps this season. In the firing line for a long time when beaten 7¼ lengths (behind Catton Lady) at Ripon on her latest start. Should get plenty of cover from stall 1 this time and can be more competitive.
Fractional
Quirky Frankel filly. Hasn't fulfilled the potential shown in a couple of 2-y-o runs (including in a strong race on debut), latterly finishing 5½ lengths third of 5 in Ripon novice. Still merits respect sent north by excellent yard for her handicap debut.
Reader
Lightly-raced 3-y-o. Fair form in turf novice/maiden events and presumably didn't take to cheekpieces (now removed) when turned over in 7f all-weather maiden at Lingfield last time. Will need to improve for the switch to a longer trip/handicap to get off the mark, though.
Always Blue
Wasn't beaten far in a solid York novice earlier in the season. Looked ready for 1¼m but was too free when beaten favourite at Redcar latest. Still early days in handicaps and remains with potential to do better, provided she settles back down in distance.
Ravishing Beauty
Three-time winner of 1m handicaps. Had been in reasonable heart before failing to take to more severe headgear at Carlisle (1m) last time. Return of cheekpieces/P.J. McDonald should see her in a better light, especially now back on her latest winning mark.
Vega's Virtue (IRE)
Quirks again on display when recording her third 3-y-o handicap win of the season at Doncaster last time. Had nothing to spare on that occasion, though, and may be found out back against her elders off 2 lb higher.
