Timeform View

BLAKE'S MONARCH ran well considering how close he raced to the strong pace when midfield in the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot in June and, following a subsequent breathing operation (also gelded), he's fancied to make a bold bid returned to much calmer waters. Karl Burke's Mugheer who made a winning debut at Catterick is an obvious danger. Paphos and Cyberspace can do best of the others.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Blake's Monarch traded at a low of 110.00 and Betfair SP of 257.86 when losing last time, a race in which it raced prominently: Mugheer traded at a high of 3.00 and Betfair SP of 2.44 when winning last time, a race in which it led.

Timeform Comments

Mugheer (IRE)
Soldier's Call gelding who makes plenty of appeal on paper and despite greenness, he knuckled down well to make a winning debut in a Catterick maiden (5f) 3 weeks ago, edging ahead late on. In leading hands and he's likely to improve. Player.
Paphos (IRE)
€60,000 breeze-up purchase who showed plenty of the speed he's bred for when fifth of 8 in a Musselburgh maiden (5f) on debut 3 weeks ago, disputing lead until fading approaching final 1f. Appeals as the type to improve with that under his belt.
Rum Point (IRE)
Speedily-bred sort who looked badly in need of the experience when eleventh of 13 in a Thirsk novice (6f) on debut earlier this month.
Blake's Monarch (IRE)
Just touched off on debut at Wolverhampton (6f) before proving too keen at Chester. Ran well considering proximity to a strong pace when 6½ lengths tenth of 21 to Orthodox in Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot (5f) 87 days ago and this much more suitable (gelded and had a breathing operation since).
Cyberspace
Bred to be sharp and offered something to work on before tiring when fifth of 7 in a Newcastle novice (5f) 12 days ago. Not unduly punished then and he's entitled to progress with that behind him.
Regal Adventure (IRE)
Coulsty gelding. 50/1, proved very green (missed break) when well held seventh of 8 in a Thirsk maiden (5f) in April. Given time since but he's passed over nevertheless.
Muve On
Foaled February 20. Mattmu gelding. Half-brother to 5f winner Albegone. Dam 5f winner. Yard's debutants usually better for their first run.
Malulee
Lope Y Fernandez filly who was too green to achieve anything on her Beverley debut in July. Suffered a tack issue when heavily eased off at Thirsk (6f) 10 days ago but she can only be watched in any case.
