Timeform View

TIME INTERVAL badly lost his way towards the end of last season but has become well handicapped on old form as a result and, having made a notable yard switch and undergone a second breathing operation, he's taken to revive. Latin would have pushed the winner closest but for a calamitous error 2 out on his handicap debut/final start for James Owen at Stratford and remains with potential, while Lady Dapple Rose completes the shortlist.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Cawthorne Banker traded at more than 10 times Betfair SP twice when winning during its last 5 starts: Jet Patrol traded at 25% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP twice on 3 of its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Zucayan (FR)
All 3 career wins at Ludlow and proved as good as ever when runner-up in 7-runner handicap there (2m, good) in May. Wouldn't have been far away once more but for falling 3 out at Uttoxeter the following month but underperformed at Stratford 3 weeks ago.
Latin (IRE)
Fair and prolific on Flat (stays 11f) and has shown promise in this sphere, including in a maiden/novice during the spring. Would have pushed the winner closest but for a calamitous error 2 out on his handicap debut/final start for James Owen at Stratford and remains with potential for new yard.
Jet Patrol (IRE)
Isn't the most robust, but he ran right up to his best when 1¾-length second in a solid handicap for the grade at Stratford in August. Wasn't in the same form back there 10 days ago, though.
Time Interval
Recorded back-to-back wins at Stratford/Warwick before placing off much higher marks last summer. Now well handicapped following a quiet spring and may revive on the back of a breathing operation for new yard (£8,000 buy for Dan Skelton, who's previously done well with ex-David Dennis horses).
Annual Invitation (IRE)
Placed in Irish points and has very much shaped as if handicaps have been the plan since sent hurdling, not at all knocked about when fifth at Uttoxeter (2m) in May. Probably needed the run in a first-time hood at Worcester 4 months on and remains with potential now going handicapping.
Promethean (FR)
Fair 1½m maiden winner on the Flat for David Menuisier. Showed plenty more than previously over hurdles when third of 7 in 2m maiden at Southwell in April but found it a struggle with a tongue strap enlisted for handicap debut at Aintree the following month, beaten when falling 3 out.
Lady Dapple Rose (IRE)
Showed ability in 2 bumpers and bits and pieces of promise over hurdles for Harriet Dickin and was prominent in the betting ahead of short-lived stable debut (fell heavily first) at Fontwell in May. Remains interesting.
Cawthorne Banker (IRE)
Chased home a subsequent winner at Worcester before enhancing his fine Uttoxeter record when completing a handicap double there in blinkers in July. Made hard work of it on the latter of those starts and found his run of good form hitting the buffers at Worcester since. Bounce back needed.
Diesel Line (IRE)
Strong-travelling sort who won twice over C&D last summer/autumn, including this corresponding event. Hasn't given his running since, however, turning in a rare poor effort at Stratford last time.
Finjimk (IRE)
Failed to complete both starts in points and little impact in a bumper/trio of maiden hurdles, though needs a precautionary check in the betting having joined an upwardly-mobile yard ahead of this switch to handicaps.
Mi Sueno (IRE)
Made it 2 wins from 3 starts for capable yard at Stratford (19f) last month. Underperformed under a 7-lb penalty at Cartmel but possibly found the race coming too soon just 4 days on and could bounce back.
Uncle Remus
Went the right way in bumpers but done plenty wrong as a hurdler, typically let down by his jumping on his first outing since leaving Robert Stephens at Newton Abbot (2¼m) in August. Showed some ability remains just 6 days on at Fontwell but remains to be seen if he's able to build on that.
Northern Rose (IRE)
Twice a runner up at Stratford prior to belatedly opening her account in an 11-runner handicap over C&D in July. However, followed that with a poor run back at Stratford and had no excuses at Bangor last time.
Bowling Shane (IRE)
A fair lightly raced maiden on Flat. Yet to match that level over hurdles but wasn't disgraced fitted with a first-time tongue strap when fourth in 12-runner at Newton Abbot (2¼m) in July. Cheekpieces now added.
Delta Legend (IRE)
Twice a winner on the Flat (stays 1½m) in 2024 but below form last year and no promise on all 3 starts over hurdles. Major improvement needed on this switch to handicaps following a breathing operation.
Battle Stride (USA)
Looks one with problems, pulling up on the back of another breathing operation at Stratford (2m, good to firm, 125/1) 10 days ago. Easily passed over.
