Timeform View

THAMES WATERMAN has presumably had an issue to have been off since his winning debut here in the spring but he's in very capable hands and this looks a good opening if all is well. Darjeel and Picnic Princess are expected to make above-average improvement on second start and head the dangers unless Kitty Rey is backed on debut.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Thames Waterman traded at a high of 3.10 and Betfair SP of 3.30 when winning last time, a race in which it led.

Timeform Comments

Thames Waterman
Foaled March 26. 25,000 gns yearling, Rajasinghe colt. Brother to 6f winner Rajaking. Dam 6f-7f winner. Strong in the betting and knew his job when making a winning debut over 5f here in April. Off since (gelded in that time) but he retains plenty of potential.
Darjeel (AUS)
Foaled March 22. Lucky Vega colt. Dam, Canadian 2-y-o 1m winner, sister to useful French 10.4f/11f winner Hidden Dimples. Shade too keen on the front end but did show ability when fifth of 8 at Newbury on debut 3 weeks ago. More to come.
Lowcountry
Tenth of 12 in novice at Salisbury (6f, good to soft, 40/1) on debut 25 days ago.
Without Fail (IRE)
Couldn't even match debut form when tenth of 12 in novice at this course (7f, 150/1) 28 days ago.
Christmas Is Comin
Sent off 50/1 but did show something to work on when fifth of 12 in novice at Salisbury (6f, good to soft) on debut 25 days ago.
Cosmocrat
Foaled March 10. 10,000 gns yearling, £11,250 2-y-o (private sale), Caturra colt. Half-brother to useful French 1m-1¼m winner Star of The Night. Dam, ran twice in France, out of smart 10.5f-1½m winner Astrologie.
Redrosecastana (IRE)
Little short-term promise after 2 runs.
Taranis
13,000 gns yearling, Space Blues gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to winner up to 7f Laulne. Well held on debut at Epsom (7f) 2 weeks ago.
Amorance (IRE)
NON RUNNER.
Kitty Rey (IRE)
Foaled April 17. €32,000 yearling, St Mark's Basilica filly. Half-sister to several winners, including useful 1m/9f winner Like A King and winner up to 9.5f Daafr. Wears hood for debut for respected stable.
Ghazalia (IRE)
€130,000 foal, 75,000 gns yearling, €20,000 2-y-o, Blue Point filly. Dam once-raced half-sister to Falmouth Stakes winner Rajeem. Didn't show a great deal over 5f at Catterick 3 weeks ago.
Picnic Princess
15,000 gns yearling, Ardad filly. Half-sister to 3 winners, including useful 7f winner Zip and 6f (including at 2 yrs) winner Valentine Catcher. Dam, 7.4f/1m winner. Looked to be learning as the race wore on when fifth on heavy ground at Beverley 16 days ago. Upped to 6f and she's capable of better.
