Timeform View

Albany fifth HIDDEN GIFT was below expectations in the Alice Keppel last time but still sets a clear standard back in novice company and can get the better of Myesme, who went close at Ayr on her highly-encouraging debut. Halliwell Stream also made a promising start to her career in the spring and remains open to progress.

Timeform Comments

Delighfully Hot
Runner-up twice in July, showing fair form when narrowly denied at Sandown on second occasion. Probably wasn't seen to best effect when fourth of 8 at Chepstow next time but seemed beaten on merit when third of 10 at Southwell (5f) 16 days ago. Might prove vulnerable to progressive rivals.
Dreamawhile
Foaled March 10. 20,000 gns yearling, Dream Ahead filly. Yard wouldn't be associated with debut winners.
Duty's Call (IRE)
Went off favourite but failed to beat a rival when last of 8 in maiden at Sandown (5f, good) on debut but quickly proved herself much better than that when second of 6 in novice at Chester (5f, good) 25 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time.
Halliwell Stream (IRE)
£140,000 purchase who showed promise when fourth of 10 in a novice race at Yarmouth in May and took a small step forward when filling the same position in a 10-runner maiden at Nottingham a fortnight later. Off for 105 days since but should still improve.
Hidden Gift (IRE)
£150,000 breeze-up purchase who finished an encouraging second on debut at Ripon (5f) and proved much sharper (showed bags of zest) when posting a very solid fifth in the Albany at Royal Ascot (6f). Bit below that level at Glorious Goodwood last time but still sets a solid standard.
Myesme
Havana Grey filly who made a very promising start to her career when a neck second of 8 in maiden at Ayr (6f, good) on debut 37 days ago, perhaps unlucky to have bumped into a Southern raider and faring easily best of the newcomers. Should progress.
Runaway Lucy
Foaled March 22. Ulysses filly. Sister to 11f/1½m winner Letmeseethecolts and 1½m-17f winner Division Day. Looks one for the longer term.
Show And Tell
Showcasing filly. 35,000 gns foal, £65,000 2-y-o. Sister to 6f winner Calling A Star and half-sister to useful 6f winner Durham Castle (by Havana Grey). Yard 0-3 with 2-y-o newcomers this season and it's perhaps a bit concerning that she makes debut in a tongue strap.
Valentina Bonita (IRE)
Foaled March 12. €4,000 foal, £12,000 2-y-o, Space Traveller filly. Dam 6f winner. Yard 0-26 with 2-y-o newcomers this season, so others make much more appeal.
