Timeform View

MASSIMO BLUE is yet to really prove himself on turf but has thrived since joining Dylan Cunha and remains on a workable mark. He gets the nod. Dark Side Thunder and Deluded head the list of dangers.

Timeform Comments

Three Non Blondes
Dual 6f/7f winner for Karl Burke last winter and gained first success for current yard in 4-runner handicap at this course (7f) in July. Proved disappointing on all-weather since but may do better back here.
Flag Of St George (IRE)
Dual winner last term but yet to really fire in 4 starts this season. Below last winning mark now but others appeal more.
Underwriter (FR)
Won maiden/novice events over 6f at Ayr for Archie Watson last summer. Bounced back to form on second run for new yard with Ascot fourth in July but well below that level since. Now tried in cheekpieces.
Hugh
Ran to a fair level on first 2 starts but was disappointing on qualifying run and failed to improve on switch to handicapping at Wolverhampton 47 days ago.
King Of Chaos (IRE)
Three-time winner on all-weather this year, latest at Wolverhampton in July. Below form more recently, though, and has yet to score on turf.
Tyger Bay
Resumed winning ways at Chelmsford (6f) in March but been more miss than hit since, well held at Southwell latest. Others more persuasive.
Stellar Vision
Landed 7f Wolverhampton novice in January and close third on handicap debut at Newmarket in April. However, barely beat a rival home in a trio of starts since and has something to prove now.
Nuevo Slovo (IRE)
Ayr maiden winner in 2025 who was also an excellent sixth in Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot for John O'Donoghue. Well held all 4 starts this season for new yard, however.
Deluded (IRE)
Wolverhampton maiden winner this time last year who got back on the up when creditable third at Kempton (6f) in June. Not in same form over longer trip latest but must enter calculations here.
Massimo Blue
Made a successful debut for this yard (formerly with George Baker) at Southwell (6f) last month and followed up over same C&D 11 days later. 6 lb higher now but is a must for any shortlist.
Akabusi
Capitalised on a drop in grade when scoring at Newmarket in May. Disappointed more recently but has been cut plenty of slack by the handicapper and is worth a second look in the market on switch to new yard.
Dark Side Thunder
Making his fifth appearance in this race (placed in 2023 and 2024) and arrives on the back of creditable second of 6 in handicap over C&D (firm) 63 days ago. Races off same mark here and merits consideration.
