Timeform View

Preference is for TIMELY AFFAIR, who made it back-to-back wins when scoring at Lingfield last month and he can add to his tally in his current form. Eduardo Calderon conceded first run when second at Epsom recently and is feared most with more still to offer over this trip, ahead of Dashing Dick.

Timeform Comments

Packetofbiscuits
Enjoyed a fine spell on all-weather early in the year, recording back-to-back wins at Southwell (7f) in February. Went off the boil subsequently, though hinted at a revival when 3¾ lengths sixth of 8 at Thirsk 12 days ago. Remains lightly raced over 1m.
Timely Affair
Has enjoyed a productive campaign, making it 4 wins for the year when making all on the all-weather at Lingfield last month. Placed over this C&D in May and he's a major player in his hat-trick bid with yard going well.
Rusheen Boy
Doubled his tally for the season when winning a match at this course (7f) in June and, after a couple of lesser efforts, got back on the up when also landing 14-runner contest at Southwell (1m) 17 days ago. Task is now to build on latest effort.
Dashing Dick (IRE)
Front runner who is yet to win this season but has made the frame twice at Newmarket (7f), including when fourth of 10 on latest outing. Goes well at this track so he could make a bold bid back down in grade.
Mountain Of Light
Took a step forward when second in maiden at Ffos Las (1m) last month. Wasn't able to find any further progress when again finding one too strong on handicap debut at the same course (7.5f) 20 days ago, though it still remains early days for her.
Born A Rebel
Won twice over 7f last year, including at this meeting. In-and-out form so far this season but has run well over 1m the last twice, splitting a couple of less-exposed rivals when second of 7 at Newmarket 6 weeks ago.
Tactical Plan
Losing run is mounting up but took a step back in the right direction when fourth of 12 at Brighton in June. Back in cheekpieces, ran to a similar level when filling the same position in 5-runner race over this C&D 11 weeks ago. Any rain would be in his favour.
New Bay Star (IRE)
Lost out narrowly in 11f maiden at Kempton in January, his final run for Charlie Johnston. However, well below that level in 2 starts for this yard, making a belated handicap debut when down the field at Southwell 17 days ago. Drops back in trip.
Eduardo Calderon (IRE)
Has returned to form with placed efforts on his last 2 starts, arguably unlucky not to gain a breakthrough success when never-nearer second at Epsom (8.5f) 17 days ago. That was his first attempt at around this trip, so there could still be better to come.
Man Of Desert
Maiden who, fitted with tongue strap, posted best effort of the season when second of 5 in handicap over this C&D in July. Has failed to repeat that performance in 2 starts since, though, down the field here (1¼m) 18 days ago. Blinkers added.
Forever Endless
Didn't make much impact in his qualifying runs and wasn't able to improve for the switch to handicaps when fifth of 7 at Newmarket last month. Has work to do.
Guest House (IRE)
Made a winning return in handicap over this C&D in April and doubled his tally with a clear-cut success here last month. Wasn't in the same form at Newmarket on latest outing, but no surprise to see him bounce back at this venue.
Khuskhas
Maiden winner over 6f here last summer and returned to winning ways in handicap at Newmarket (1m) in June, his final outing for James Ferguson. Has made the frame both starts for present stable, switched to a hood when second of 7 at Newmarket last time.
Makes Me Wonder
Sole success came over this C&D last spring. Has largely held his form well since, again finding only one too strong in 10-runner contest at Brighton 16 days ago. Cheekpieces applied as he moves back up in grade.
Montpellier Green (IRE)
Struggled for form in handicaps for this yard last year, though after 7 months off he probably needed the run when well held at Chester (7f) in July. Has dropped a long way in the weights so he's worth a market check.
