Timeform View

ICE CUBE took a while to hit full stride when finishing fourth at Epsom on his latest outing 5 weeks ago, yet he'd looked one to keep on side in this sort of company when scoring at that venue previously and could well be worth chancing to resume progress for a stable enjoying a highly-productive season. Multiple C&D winner Jkr Cobbler and Vince Le Prince head up the dangers, along with Jet Warrior and Ey Up Its Jazz.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Carmel Valley traded at 10% or less of Betfair SP, 25% or less of Betfair SP twice and 50% or less of Betfair SP on 4 of its last 5 starts: Blufferonthebus traded at 25% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP on 2 of its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Vince Le Prince
Without a win since 2024 but lines up here on a workable mark and he made the frame again in refitted blinkers (retained) when fourth at Musselburgh (7f, good to firm) last week. Forecast easier ground in his favour and he's in with a shout returned to class 6 company.
Highfield Viking
Back-to-back winner last August (including over C&D) but has yet to build on an encouraging reappearance fifth in 4 subsequent outings this season. Mark continues to ease if refitting of blinkers revitalises him.
Jet Warrior
Dual 6f winner in May who remained consistent in defeat thereafter for Ben Haslam. Changed hands for 14,000 gns in July but ran below best in first-time visor when eleventh of 18 in handicap at York (7f) later that month. Cheekpieces go back on and this is less demanding.
Ey Up Its Jazz
Very effective on soft ground, winning over 1m here across a largely positive 2025. Showed the benefit of a recent run when sixth of 22 at Doncaster (1m, good to soft) in March prior to disappointing in 2 starts on all-weather/turf in May. Bounce back not ruled out following a break, though.
Dacres Cross (IRE)
Fair 6f juvenile winner who stepped up markedly on his reappearance when fourth in 20-runner York handicap over this trip in May. Unable to replicate that confined to 2 starts since but return to 7f looks a good move now taking on his elders for the first time.
Blufferonthebus (IRE)
Successful 3 times during a busy 2025 campaign and went close to adding to her tally at Carlisle (1m) in June. However, has looked in a lull since, eased off when seventh of 9 back at that venue 4 weeks ago.
Ice Cube (IRE)
Built on previous promise when off the mark in 8-runner Epsom handicap (7f) in July. Took a while to hit full stride but not beaten far when fourth back at that C&D last month but he returns from 5 weeks off with stable amongst the winners and better showing not ruled out.
Angela's Baar (IRE)
Has yet to make any real impact since sent handicapping, proving too free in a first-time visor (discarded) when last of 7 over 1m at Pontefract in July. Assessor relinquishes his grip further if return to this shorter trip has positive effect.
Jkr Cobbler (IRE)
Gained a fifth C&D success having fallen plenty in the weights in July. Ran respectably on the back of a 4 lb rise when fourth returned to this C&D later that month and he's one to consider having been freshened up ahead of this.
Carmel Valley (IRE)
Lightly-raced filly. All the better for the switch to front-running tactics when placing in back-to-back handicaps here in July. Rise in class possibly caught her out when eighth in 10-runner Musselburgh contest (7f) 24 days ago but this rates more suitable from career-low mark.
Cavallo Pazzo (IRE)
Failed to threaten in 4 outings last season and a watching brief is advised back from 11 months off unless the betting speaks in his favour.
Keep Me Stable (IRE)
Course winner who completed a hat-trick at Musselburgh last summer (now 4 lb lower). Didn't quite scale the same heights when placing twice last month and some way below best on each of her last 2 starts. Others more persuasive.
Saxon Prince
Maiden who displayed fair form at best on all-weather for Clive Cox. Not yet threatened in 2 outings for present yard. though, gelded prior to finishing ninth of 14 at Newcastle (6f) 12 days ago. Steps back up in trip with tongue tie retained and market can likely prove best guide.
Kelpie Grey
C&D scorer who is winless since completing a hat-trick in spring 2024. His mark has dropped significantly as a result but he again underperformed having a rare try over 1m at Hamilton 2 weeks ago. Visor goes on quickly dropped back to this shorter trip.
