Having won a couple of points, DEPALMA made a very positive start to life with Dan Skelton at Bangor 2 weeks ago and while this drop back in trip is a slight concern, he can overcome it. Pappano's well-being is something of an unknown but he has the class to be a major factor in this race if running close to his Flat form on return.

Black Dakota (IRE)
Winning pointer but offered little in a hunter chase/maiden hurdle for Michael Winters in May and was never dangerous for new yard over 19f in June. This trip is more suitable, at least.
Depalma (IRE)
Ex-Irish gelding who was winless in 11 attempts under Rules for Colm Murphy. Acquired by new yard for £20,000 in May and shaped as if ahead of his mark when 3 lengths second of 7 in handicap chase at Bangor (3m) 14 days ago. Back hurdling and can do some damage for his excellent yard.
Devon Red
Little impact in points in 2023/24. Modest form when runner-up in 4-runner novice here last month (17f) flattered by proximity to eased-down winner and he didn't seem to fully see it out when fourth over C&D on handicap debut 11 days ago. Cheekpieces on.
Dontcontradictme (IRE)
Showed ability on the first of 2 bumper starts last summer but found to be lame after pulling up on hurdling debut in August 2025. Off the track since but he's in very capable hands.
Pappano
Useful on the Flat, signing off for John & Thady Gosden with a very good third in listed race at Ascot in October 2024. Pitched into the Triumph the following spring for hurdling debut (found that all too much. Also well held in the Northumberland Plate and since left Willie Mullins. Tongue tie on.
Penzance
Yet to match his Flat form over hurdles but another creditable effort trying this sort of trip for the first time when third in a handicap at Downpatrick 18 days ago. Has his limitations as a hurdler but likely to give it another good go back in maiden company.
Ocean Rose (IRE)
Crystal Ocean mare who didn't show a great deal in bumpers and same story tackling obstacles last week.
