Timeform View

MR MCWHINNY hasn't looked back since joining this yard, recording a third success from his last 4 starts at Sedgefield on Monday. Remaining well treated under a 7-lb penalty, Tom Ellis' 8-y-o is strongly fancied to continue his winning spree. My Cullen enjoys a 7 lb turnaround with the selection from their recent C&D clash, but he may have to settle for silver again, with the returning Rule Me In best of the rest.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Mr Mcwhinny traded at a high of 2.10 and Betfair SP of 1.96 when winning last time, a race in which it raced in mid-field and travelled strongly early on.

Timeform Comments

The Gypsy Davey (IRE)
Stopped the slide off a plummeting mark when runner-up in a weak race over C&D back in July. Failed to back up that effort despite a 7 lb turnaround with the winner 6 days later and he cannot be relied upon nowadays. First-time cheekpieces replace a visor.
My Cullen (IRE)
Long-standing maiden who wasted no time getting back on track switched to British soil when 7 lengths second of 5 to Mr Mcwhinny over C&D (good) 11 days ago, racing freely at the head of affairs for much of the way. Meets that rival on 7 lb better terms here.
Mr Mcwhinny (IRE)
Has taken off for his new yard, recording a third win from his last 4 starts in 5-runner event at Sedgefield (19f, good) 4 days ago, cruising clear after taking over between the last 2. Carries a 7-lb penalty but still looking ahead of his mark, he's the one to beat.
Rule Me In (IRE)
Fair hurdle winner but has yet to really threaten over the larger obstacles, once more not living up to market expectations when last seen at Southwell in May. Headgear goes on and interesting to see if he's supported again from a further reduced mark on his return.
Vengeance
Long-standing maiden who struggled from out of the weights on chase bow over C&D back in early-June. Able to race off his proper mark now at least but still looks up against it.
Mcgregors Charge
Perth scorer last summer (for Ella Pickard) who narrowly failed to repeat that feat having slipped to the same mark there (3m) last month, a tongue strap seemingly key to his revival. Below form over C&D 11 days ago though, a mixed round of jumping not helping. Best to look elsewhere.
