STORMING POINT has made an encouraging start in handicaps, staying on well for fifth in a competitive contest at York last month, so he is fancied to take advantage of this drop in grade. He can see off the challenge of Abundant, who is respected arriving on the back of a C&D success, with Crossbar one to note making handicap debut.

Timeform Comments

Drymee
Made it back-to-back wins when successful on handicap debut over this C&D in July. Ran creditably next time and soon resumed winning ways at Sandown 22 days ago, winning easily despite hanging right. Up 10 lb in the weights for his latest success.
Abundant (IRE)
Had been running well in handicaps this season, before finding some progress taking on his elders for the first time when scoring over this C&D last month. Yet to run a bad race so he's not taken lightly.
Starlight Time
Down the field in turf handicaps on first 3 outings this season, but produced a career best when scoring on the all-weather at Kempton last month. Left poorly placed when 2 lengths last of 7 at the same course 15 days ago, so he could bounce back (turf winner on debut).
Storming Point
Placed on first 4 starts and has shaped promisingly sent handicapping the last twice, never-nearer fifth of 19 at York's Ebor meeting. Could be ready to open his account as he drops in grade.
Astrazar (IRE)
Successful upped to 7f on final starts last year and got back on the up this season when going close in handicap at Newmarket (1m) in July. Drawn widest and again slowly away when down the field at York on latest outing. Blinkers added back down in grade.
Back To Me (IRE)
Both wins on all-weather, making a successful seasonal debut for Ben Haslam in a Southwell novice (7f) in April. However, well held in handicap at York (6f) on final run for that yard and down the field on stable debut at Newmarket last month. Up in trip.
Crossbar (IRE)
Looked above average when making a winning debut in 7f novice at Kempton in May. Wasn't able to improve when third at Wetherby next time, but the form has been boosted by the first 2 since. Remains with potential as he makes a quick switch to handicaps.
Aqua Bear (IRE)
Won 7f maiden at Newcastle on first start for present stable in November. Shaped well when third in handicap at Carlisle (1m) in June but not in the same form last 2 outings. Hood now reached for.
Aura Champagne (IRE)
Showed promise when third in a pair of novices at this course on first 2 starts. No match for the odds-on winner at Windsor (1¼m) 12 days ago, but she could still have more to offer as she goes handicapping back down in trip.
Starlight Sami (IRE)
Confirmed the promise of his return when opening account in handicap at Salisbury (7f) in May. Has gone backwards from that effort in 3 subsequent outings, though.
