JANNAS JOURNEY has had plenty of racing but she remains unexposed as a sprinter and she wasn't beaten far in a better race than this over C&D last month. Annie Edson Taylor had a couple of these in behind when winning over C&D early this month so is next best ahead of Persian Spirit, who should strip fitter for her comeback run.

Timeform Comments

Jannas Journey (IRE)
Had a remarkable 2025, winning 7 from 8 starts over the summer, and she was back to winning ways at Carlisle (1m) in July. Unexposed as a sprinter and she went close to adding to her tally when dropped back in trip over C&D last month. Engaged 16.50 Ayr Saturday.
Persian Spirit (IRE)
Lightly-raced filly but a dual 6f winner for Richard Hannon. Showed plenty of spark before shaping as if needing the run after 12 months off at Newcastle 2 weeks ago and better expected now.
Mae Amor (IRE)
Big-price winner over C&D on return in May off a higher mark and finally back to that level when fourth of 26 at Glorious Goodwood. Remained competitive next 2 starts and she should be on the scene again.
Call Me Betty (IRE)
Dual 7f winner on all-weather last year and, making only second start over 6f, left this season's return behind when making all at Carlisle in May. Not in same form next 2 starts, though she was returning from a 3-month break when 4¼ lengths seventh to Annie Edson Taylor over C&D 18 days ago.
Lily Pearl
Improved when making a winning nursery debut at Pontefract last autumn but yet to build on that in 3 starts this year.
Thunderstorm Katie
Well placed/drawn when opening her account for the year at Ayr last month and was an excellent close second of 20 back there on Thursday. However, struggled on softer ground over C&D in between those runs.
Annie Edson Taylor
Back to winning ways at Thirsk in June and put a couple of below-par efforts behind her when resuming winning ways in refitted cheekpieces over C&D early this month. Can go well again under similar conditions.
Pickersgill (IRE)
Mixed record since winning at Southwell in April. though her 2 most recent efforts were particularly poor.
Iris Dancer
Prolific winner over C&D, scoring 3 times this season (latest was her 12th overall). Seems to have gone off the boil for now, though.
