Timeform View

RUN TED RUN can make a winning hurdle debut on the back of his promising Galway bumper success. Gillane and Rememberwhat look the pick of those with hurdling experience.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Run Ted Run traded at a high of 5.00 and Betfair SP of 2.39 when winning last time, a race in which it led.

Timeform Comments

Beyond Forgiveness (IRE)
Pulled up sole start in points. Showed more than on hurdling debut 9½ lengths fourth at Ballinrobe (2¼m) last time. Was well positioned in a race where few got into it, though, and he'll need to settle better to make more impact up in trip.
Fuusland (IRE)
Looked far from natural when well-beaten fourth of 9 in a Downpatrick novice (2¼m) in July. Steps up in trip but is probably a handicap project for top yard.
Game Theatre (IRE)
Won an ordinary-looking point at the second attempt. Looked more of a stayer when 12¼ lengths fourth of 9 in a Clonmel bumper (2½m, soft) on Rules debut in April. Should benefit from longer trip/switch to hurdles and is in good hands. Engaged 4.02 Navan Saturday.
Gillane (IRE)
Showed fair form in pair of maiden hurdles for previous yard last year. Cheekpieces on and didn't need to improve to open his account in a Bellewstown bumper on third start for Gavin Cromwell in April. Has potential to do better back hurdling, with the longer trip expected to suit.
Goodmancon (IRE)
In the process of showing improved form when falling 2 out at Limerick (2½m) in July. Not at same level either start since, despite shaping/jumping better when 12 lengths fourth of 9 in Tramore maiden latest. Bit to find at the weights, even with promising claimer taking over.
Haveanothertry (IRE)
Finished last season with back-to-back places in maiden hurdles, latterly finishing 2 lengths behind a next-time-out winner at Navan (2½m, soft) on final start for Gordon Elliott. Probably needs to better that to make winning return, for all Mark Walsh is a positive jockey booking on stable debut.
Minella Maverick (IRE)
€55,000 3-y-o, Sholokhov gelding. Closely related to fair hurdler/chaser Diplomatic Ash. More likely to be a longer-term prospect.
Rememberwhat (IRE)
Split a fairly useful pair to finish 1¼-length second on hurdling debut at Kilbeggan (25f). Unsurprisingly didn't translate that to a bumper there last time (later disqualified as rider failed to weigh in). Player if reproducing his initial hurdles form, though clearly isn't one for maximum faith.
Run Ted Run (IRE)
Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler Kilbarry Lilly (who stayed this far). Justified support to make a winning start in a 2¼m Galway Festival bumper in late-July, digging deep to see off an in-form one with experience. That form is working out well, and he looks very interesting on hurdles bow.
Sharp As Glass (IRE)
Winning pointer from a good staying family. First-time tongue strap added and ran to a similar level as previously when 3 lengths third in Cork bumper in April (19f, soft). Others arrive with stronger bumper form, however, he should be suited by the switch to hurdling/longer trip on his return.
Too Hot To Trot (IRE)
Runner-up in a point last autumn. Showed more ability than the bare result might suggest when beaten 6½ lengths (behind subsequent winner) in a heavy-ground bumper at Limerick in April. Entitled to do better on hurdling debut given his connections/pedigree (half-brother to fairly useful hurdler).
Tribal Thunder
Made the frame in points. Did best of those outside of the quartet who dominated the betting when beaten 26½ lengths on debut at Galway. Longer trip out to suit, though he's a more likely type for handicaps.
Bobo Buck (IRE)
Capri gelding. Half-brother to modest 2½m chase winner Shallow Run. Dam (c117/h114) 2m-2½m hurdle/chase winner out of half-sister to top-class hurdler (stayed 2½m) Fortune And Fame. Yard an unlikely source of a debut winner.
Labondance (FR)
Failed to justify support when 11 lengths fourth on return/stable debut at Ballinrobe (2¾m), running below her fair hurdle/chase form in France. Clearly thought capable of better by shrewd operation.
Ocovango Lady (IRE)
Unpromising in points and similar story in a Kilbeggan bumper in June. Unlikely to do better upped markedly in trip for hurdles bow.
Urra Mass Rock (IRE)
Has shown little in a pair of maiden hurdles to date.
Misty Valentine (IRE)
Has made an inauspicious start to her hurdling career. Now in first-time hood over a significantly longer trip.
